Kingsley gently gave Louise a push. Before leaving, he thoughtfully closed the door for the two people in the room.

Silence lingered in the room, making the atmosphere slightly awkward. Soft light fell over Louise's faintly flushed cheeks. She gently bit her lip, already beginning to regret rushing over to find someone to talk to on a sudden impulse.

"Is there anything I can help you with, Louise?"

Amosta's voice remained gentle, as though he had not realized that a single man and woman alone in a room late at night was quite an intimate situation.

Perhaps because Amosta's gentle tone was as usual, Louise's pounding heart gradually found its rhythm again. She took several deep breaths, pressed her lips together, and spoke in a slightly hoarse voice.

"Sorry, Amosta. I just—well, I couldn't sleep, and then—I saw that your room was still lit, so I wanted someone to talk to—"

It was only natural that she could not sleep. If Louise had been able to rest peacefully, Amos would have been surprised instead.

"Oh, if you don't mind, perhaps we could have a drink—"

Amosta rose from the sofa and said with a smile,

"A little alcohol can help relax the nerves—"

Drinking together in a room in the middle of the night somehow felt even stranger.

Louise's heartbeat picked up again, but when she saw Amosta's composed expression, she relaxed slightly and slowly nodded.

Amosta walked over to the liquor cabinet in the room, his gaze moving over its three shelves. Before long, he selected a bottle of semi-dry sherry.

Elegantly rolling up his sleeves, Amosta deftly uncorked the bottle. When he turned around, he saw Louise standing ten feet behind him, looking at the sofa he had just been sitting on with hesitation in her eyes.
