"He wanted you to be responsible for monitoring him?"
Graves narrowed his eyes and repeated Amelia's account. It was easy to tell from his tone that he found it puzzling.
Amelia offered no further reaction, merely giving a slight nod.
From the straightforward look in the young girl's eyes, Graves guessed that she and Amosta Breen had not known each other beforehand. So perhaps Breen had taken a liking to Amelia at first sight?
It would not be difficult to find out Amosta Breen's age, and Graves had long learned of it through the entry application materials Remus had sent from Britain.
There was no doubt that he was a genius wizard. To reach such heights on the path of magic at that age—setting aside certain exaggerated legends—Graves had never found anyone in history who could stand alongside him. But supposedly, Amosta Breen had no partner, so perhaps the guess that he had set his sights on Amelia...
Was nonsense.
After a brief analysis, Graves dismissed the possibility.
Though he had never met Amosta Breen, the scattered remarks he had heard from Chairman Kouhaug, along with the many reports in that foreign The Daily Prophet, were enough for Graves to piece together a vague image of Amosta Breen in his mind.
A figure like that ought to know the impact every word and action of his could have. Especially on foreign soil, Amosta Breen could not possibly behave so frivolously.
Graves instinctively wanted to refuse, but he also had to consider Breen's feelings.
After all, judging from the current situation, perhaps because he had business to attend to in New York, Breen had been cooperative enough. Just as he had told Amelia earlier, both sides needed to make concessions.
To have Amelia accompany Breen the entire time...
Graves frowned deeply.
