Aha Really Had No Dignity

Seeing his 2D wife made Liu Xing excited for quite a while, but he soon slumped lifelessly within the Starlight.

He was a soul now, incapable of even touching Firefly. It was not like he wanted to do anything while she slept; he merely wanted to touch the moonlight in his heart, his imagined 2D wife.

But unfortunately, there was nothing he could do.

Watching all sorts of fleeting scenes flash past beyond the Starlight, Liu Xing could be certain that he was no longer in his original world. What a joke—did his world even have Firefly?

"Starlight, Starlight, where exactly are you taking us?"

Resting his chin on his hand, Liu Xing muttered to himself. He had no idea what this Starlight was. It was beyond his control, and he did not know whether it was his cheat ability.

He had also tried communicating with Starlight, but it gave no response. It simply carried him onward at breakneck speed, without stopping for even a moment.

The only exception was when it had pulled Firefly into the Starlight as well, confirming that this was not a cheat ability exclusive to him.

Just as Liu Xing was lost in thought, the words "building a wall" echoed through his mind and jolted him awake. Looking beyond the Starlight, he discovered an endless Celestial Wall stretching across the horizon ahead.

A headless colossal statue made entirely of rock and amber was holding a massive hammer and building the wall. Liu Xing stared dumbfoundedly at the supergiant god, whose body surpassed even stars in size and was as vast as an entire galaxy.

"Amber King!"

Liu Xing stared fixedly at the god building the wall, terrified that the great Amber King would smash the Starlight with his hammer. He did not really care—he had already died once, and he was only a soul now. He did not even know how much longer he could exist. But it would be far too tragic if Firefly got caught up in this.

The original Firefly would have been taken in by Kafka of the Stellar Hunters. Though plagued by Entropickness, she would at least still be alive. If she died because of him and Starlight, these two butterflies, it would be utterly suffocating.

Fortunately, the Amber King was devoted to building his wall and had no interest in them. He did not even spare them a glance.

Starlight, meanwhile, ignored the Amber King's existence and, right in front of him, crashed straight through the boundless Subspace Crystal Wall before traveling toward the next universe.

"Awesome!"

Liu Xing gave Starlight a thumbs-up. Smashing through the wall the Amber King had painstakingly hammered together right in front of him—what kind of Trailblaze Star God behavior was that? It also had quite the flair of the Pleasure Star God.

As the Subspace Crystal Wall was shattered, the enormous headless statue instinctively brought down its hammer. Bang! A tremendous boom rang throughout the universe, announcing the arrival of a new Amber Era.

Countless powerful factions standing amid the stars were utterly bewildered. A new Amber Era had arrived just like that?

That thunderous sound not only confused the major powers of the universe, but also drew the attention of a special existence.

A great being made up of countless clown masks appeared in the universe. He first glanced at the Amber King, then noticed the Starlight passing through the Subspace Crystal Wall toward an unknown universe.

He chased after the direction in which Starlight had gone, shouting as he pursued it, "Wait for Aha! Aha wants to get on board!"

But before he could cross the Celestial Wall, Starlight seemed to sense something. Space and time around it warped, and it instantly vanished from this universe.

Aha stopped, then burst into wild laughter. "Hahaha! Aha really has no dignity!"

Liu Xing wiped away cold sweat that did not exist from his forehead. He had nearly been noticed by the Fun God. He might enjoy watching drama too, but he had no desire to become the drama himself.

To avoid the Pleasure Star God, Starlight seemed to enter an extraordinary dimension. Beyond it was utter darkness, and Liu Xing even felt dizzy, as though they had been spinning the entire time.

He had no physical body, yet even his spirit could feel this pulling sensation. A sense of foreboding rose within him.

As it turned out, his instincts were right. Firefly, who possessed a body, showed no abnormalities and continued sleeping peacefully as always. Liu Xing, on the other hand, felt an intense tearing sensation, as though some force were about to rip him into pieces.

His survival instincts drove him to seek shelter, but without a body, the only lifeline he could grasp within this Starlight was the sleeping Firefly.

With nowhere else to turn, Liu Xing plunged headfirst into Firefly's body. As his soul flooded into her body, unfamiliar memories surged into his mind.

Inside a transparent incubation chamber, she was immersed in cold artificial amniotic fluid, enclosed within a pristine white egg. The container swayed, and she floated within it, instinctively feeling her way toward the cold, soft edge. She pressed tightly against the chamber wall and curled up in the corner, as though doing so would let her body feel a little more warmth. She heard enormous objects falling, metal clashing, and hurried footsteps sounding from time to time. The incubation chamber began to shake. A pair of mechanical hands lifted her up, and blinding light tore the world apart.

She had forgotten how to cry. She opened her eyes, yet could not see the person speaking. She rose and passed through a thick curtain, advancing deeper into the palace. Uniform footsteps echoed through the empty palace.

She passed through a desolate, enormous garden, walked past huge insect corpses, and crossed one incubation device after another. At last, she entered a magnificent council hall. A woman with a blurred face sat upon the throne, her hands hanging wearily at her sides. "Come... my child." A distant voice echoed from the depths of her mind, and an inexplicable fervor drowned her thoughts. She walked before the woman, knelt, and kissed her fingertips.

The woman's hand was as cold as ice, briefly making her feel a trace of confusion amid her fervor.

Before she knew it, she had grown used to the battlefield, used to putting on Mecha armor, used to endless combat. Her entire life had been fighting, fighting, and more fighting. Her memories were monotonous. Most of her time had been spent inside incubation chambers, followed by trips to the battlefield to slaughter the terrifying Swarm.

Her final memory was of standing alone upon scorched earth filled with smoke. As far as the eye could see, the ground was littered with the corpses of soldiers and insects. At that moment, a comrade who was barely still alive came before her. After saying, "Born to fight... is the glory of the Glamoth Iron Cavalry... for... Her Majesty the Empress..." he died completely.

She began to question everything about herself and the Glamoth Iron Cavalry. Then, a fresh bud broke through the scorched earth, and she finally welcomed rebirth. The nature of her armor's energy changed as well. Wearing her transformed armor, she flew toward the rising sun and destroyed the Swarm and Glamoth Planet that had bound her for her entire life.

That was the girl's life—a monotonous and tragic life.

Liu Xing opened his eyes and looked complicatedly at the silver-haired girl before him, who sat hugging her knees as her hair drifted around her. Driven by his survival instincts, he had hidden inside Firefly's body, entered her spiritual space, and obtained the memories of her entire life.
