Shrek Academy has endured for more than ten thousand years and is counted alongside Mingde Hall and the Body Sect as one of the continent's Three Titans 11. Its prestige rose further after it defeated the Sun Moon Empire during the Continental War, coercing the empire to rename the Sun Moon Continent and sign unequal treaties 25.

Although physically located in the Heaven Dou Empire, the academy belongs to no nation and operates beyond the jurisdiction of the surrounding imperial family. The three empires consider it a state within a state: powerful enough that open conflict could result in their defeat, yet too valuable to remove because it guards the Star Dou Great Forest and repeatedly repels beast tides 25 112.

The academy's long-term influence is tied to Tang San. It is described as a central institution for spreading faith in the Sea God; its graduates carry that belief across the continent, while the Golden Tree—left to the academy by Tang San—supports its longevity and strength 302.

Its tournament record created the Sun Moon Royal Spirit Tool Master Academy's longstanding “Eternal Second Place” reputation. Shrek had won for millennia, and nearly all observers expected it to take another championship before its later defeat 102 109.

Major Incidents

Depleted Tournament Team

Before the Soul Fighting Tournament, Shrek's regular team interrupted its journey to eliminate Evil Spirit Masters in the Mingdou Mountain Range. An enemy's corpse explosion killed one regular member and severely injured the others, forcing the academy to rely largely on its reserve team 122.

The academy's decision generated sympathy among much of the public, but others criticized it after information emerged that the Evil Spirit Master involved was only a Spirit King 151.

Loss to Sun Moon Royal Spirit Tool Master Academy

Shrek's defeat ended the Sun Moon Royal Spirit Tool Master Academy's long history of failing to surpass it. Because Shrek's team had been weakened by its anti–Evil Spirit Master operation, the loss did not destroy its position, but it caused significant reputational damage and emboldened hostile factions 149 151.

Evil Spirit Master Assault

Evil Spirit Masters later launched a coordinated attack on Shrek Academy to abduct Ma Xiaotao. They controlled Outer Academy students with black specters, used Spirit Tool Cannonballs, and lured key personnel away from Sea God Island 155 156.

Ma Xiaotao, controlled through a soul tool, left Sea God Island and was taken by the attackers. Shrek's teachers defended the students, while Mu En remained behind to confront the principal attackers and killed a Titled Douluo-level Evil Spirit Master 155.

Sea God Pavilion

The Sea God Pavilion directs Shrek Academy during its most serious internal and external crises.
