No matter how the people outside discussed it, Wang Teng paid them no heed. After entering the Military Department's gigantic warship fortress, someone came out to receive him.
It was Major Maxwell!
"Colonel Wang Teng, it's been a long time!" Major Maxwell gave Wang Teng a military salute and spoke respectfully.
It was clear that seeing Wang Teng in person had made him even more excited than before.
"Major Maxwell, it's good to see you." Wang Teng returned the salute. "You've made quite a spectacle of this."
"Hahaha, only someone like you, Colonel Wang Teng, deserves such treatment. Besides, the order came directly from above." Maxwell smiled and led the way. "Please follow me."
Wang Teng nodded and followed.
The two moved through the massive fortress. Wang Teng curiously looked around and found that the interior was practically like a Military Base, heavily guarded, with many Military Department martial artists stationed at various posts.
Fortunately, Maxwell was leading the way, so no one stopped them along the route. Otherwise, verifying their identities alone would have taken quite some time.
Wang Teng did not know that most of these martial artists actually recognized him. Whenever they saw him, they would stop and salute.
So even without Maxwell leading him, he probably would have had an unobstructed path as long as he gave his name.
"We're here!"
The two eventually arrived at the fortress's control center. Maxwell stopped before a metal door.
He tapped twice on the metal wall, and a light screen appeared. Only after verifying both their identities did the door slowly open.
"Colonel Wang Teng, please go in. General Fu Xinglan is already waiting for you inside," Maxwell said.
"General Fu Xinglan!" Wang Teng's heart stirred slightly. He had not expected that General Fu Xinglan himself would be here.
