Another year had passed. Time really flew by; before I knew it, it had slipped away.
A lot had happened in 2023. A new life had joined the family, and Lao Mo had taken on another new identity.
It was novel!
It was special!
And it came with a weighty sense of responsibility!
I had originally planned to give it my all and hoped to take another step forward this year.
For example, finishing the old book and then starting a new one.
But plans could never keep up with changes.
In May, I actually fell and injured my leg.
At the time, Lao Mo was completely numb.
Later, I spent some time in the hospital. My body was weak, and all my morale and ambition... had been knocked out of me by that fall. I was truly depressed during that period.
Thankfully, Lao Mo's family, especially my wife, took great care of Lao Mo the whole time.
Especially Lao Mo's wife. She never complained, nor did she become discouraged. She stayed strong and optimistic, often finding ways to cheer Lao Mo up and help me get through those difficult days.
At the time, she still had to take care of the baby while also running to the hospital to look after Lao Mo.
She truly did more than enough.
Just thinking about it, Lao Mo could understand how hard things had been for her during that time.
So Lao Mo was truly moved.
Later, Lao Mo's surgery was a success. After being discharged, I recuperated at home and recovered quickly, able to return to normal life.
This book also picked back up instead of being abandoned halfway through.
