After Quirrell’s defeat, Andy investigated Malfoy’s memories, advanced his magical studies, and formed a dueling group with Cedric, Hermione, and Zhang Qiu. He went home for the summer determined to strengthen his Patronus and protect his family as the coming war approached.

• Andy confronted Malfoy about Quirrell’s influence and memory alterations, then frightened him into keeping Andy’s Dark Arts studies secret.
• Dumbledore told the school that Quirrell had attacked Malfoy and sought the Philosopher’s Stone, while Andy continued exploring the China Wizarding World with Hermione and Zhang Qiu.
• Andy and Cedric practiced dueling, then formed a Duel Club with Hermione and Zhang Qiu and discussed magic and Chinese legends.
• Andy raised his Mind Power talent, learned to summon a small silver-white cat Patronus, and took first place in the exams despite weak marks in Herbology and History of Magic.

After discovering the Chamber’s likely monster and considering how to open its entrance, Andy found the Room of Requirement and a book on advanced Dark Arts.

• Andy reunited with Zhang Qiu on the Hogwarts Express, heard about China’s wizarding traditions, and watched the Weasleys’ flying car pass the train.
• Andy told Hermione that he wanted to master magic, seek immortality, and become a god, then learned from Zhang Qiu’s books that Chinese magic offered no special path to cultivation or immortality.

• Andy stole ingredients from Snape’s office and began brewing Veritaserum, then confronted Snape about his nighttime movements and learned that Snape was secretly planning with Lucius Malfoy.
• Andy practiced Fiendfyre in a room that could suppress dangerous magic, eventually shaping the flame into a Fire Hawk, and showed Hermione how safely he could control it.
• Hermione summoned an otter Patronus after Andy helped her find a room with a Dementor, while Andy persuaded Lockhart to grant him Restricted Section access and discovered that Harry could speak Parseltongue.
• Harry taught Andy several Parseltongue pronunciations, and Andy later opened the Chamber of Secrets entrance before deciding to prepare safeguards before entering.
