After they left Mingdu and rose into the sky, the lights of countless homes and the traces of human civilization behind them were cast far away. Ahead lay the road forward, illuminated by moonlight and veiled in a soft glow.
Wisps of cloud drifted through the air, carried into the distance by the evening breeze. Above the heavens hung countless twinkling stars, a sight intoxicating to behold.
Five hundred kilometers was not all that far.
During the flight, neither Huo Yuhao nor Zhang Lexuan spoke. Both simply enjoyed the peace of flying beneath the moonlight.
Still, Huo Yuhao occasionally stole a few glances at Zhang Lexuan.
Her neatly tied ponytail had long since come undone, her flowing black hair swaying in the wind. Her fair, flawless profile appeared and disappeared from view. Beneath the moonlight, she looked hazy yet crystalline, the corners of her rosy lips faintly curved in a relaxed smile.
Her fitted fighting suit shimmered beneath the moonlight, outlining her exquisite curves and making it hard to look away.
"Is there something on my face?" Zhang Lexuan noticed Huo Yuhao glancing at her from time to time. The smile at her lips faded as she asked in confusion.
As she spoke, she raised a hand to brush across her cheek. Her index finger inadvertently passed over the corner of her lips. When she turned to look at him, her beauty held less of its usual gentleness and more of a cold, striking allure.
That look on Zhang Lexuan created a contrast that was impossible to forget.
Huo Yuhao felt as though his heart had been struck by a hammer.
"No." He hurriedly shook his head, then suddenly chuckled. "I just think that you look very beautiful under the moonlight, Sister Lexuan."
"Beautiful under the moonlight?" Zhang Lexuan blinked
