More than a dozen of them looked at one another, then smiled.
Night watch was boring enough, and they had happened upon such a beautiful sight. It was rather pleasant.
But their amusement did not last long before someone noticed something was wrong. "Look, isn't the Nine Treasures Tree starting to flicker?"
"Flicker?" The others were puzzled. Upon looking more closely, their expressions suddenly changed slightly.
The Nine Treasures Tree, which had originally emitted a gentle pink glow, now seemed as though someone were repeatedly flipping a switch on and off, causing its pink light to flash again and again. Faint pink ripples spread outward.
Such a situation had never occurred before. The disciples reacted swiftly, and someone hurried off to sound the alarm.
The piercing alarm immediately rang out.

Just as the disciples witnessed the change and the alarm sounded, a deep rumble erupted. In the next instant, dazzling pink light burst forth from the Nine Treasures Tree, like a light pillar connecting to the heavens.
Countless pink petals drifted down from within the light pillar, leaving onlookers dazzled.
