A faint, intermittent sound drifted over from afar, like the cheerful voices of a group of children playing in the Willow Grove. Yet why did it make their hair stand on end when it reached their ears? And those sounds were drawing closer and closer, clearly heading toward the three of them.
A Xing and A Wang's body hair stood on end. Their whole bodies tensed as they froze in place, carefully controlling the Balloon Dummies to stroll forward.
Su Hao, meanwhile, waited with great interest for the so-called Anomalies to appear.
Before long, the things singing that nursery rhyme came hopping and skipping up beside the three Dummies!
A Xing and A Wang's hearts pounded so hard they nearly leapt into their throats. Even Su Hao was stunned. He had considered countless possibilities, but he had never imagined that the things hopping and skipping right up to them would be these.
What did they see? Hearts, livers, kidneys... all kinds of human and animal viscera had sprouted tiny, adorable limbs and were frolicking across the ground. They hopped and skipped like children, playing and chasing one another, while crisp voices rang out from them: "So scared, so scared! I'm running away~"
As they ran, they left trails of dripping blood across the ground, a sight that made one's heart race with panic.
These "little cuties" curiously hopped around, beneath, and over the heads of the three Balloon Dummies. After leaving behind their bloodstains, they seemed to have had their fill of fun and hopped away again.
The three did not move, scarcely daring to breathe. Only after all those things had vanished did they finally let out a breath.
A Wang muttered, "What were those?"
A Xing shook his head, indicating that he had no idea.
Su Hao said,
