Two years slipped by in silence. The Real-time Monitoring System had covered the entire planet several months ago, and Su Hao had finally obtained the disaster occurrence data he wanted.
After acquiring the information, he threw himself wholeheartedly into organizing and analyzing the data. Even Ashan and Feng Cheng had not seen him for a long time.
Su Hao's goal was to build a mathematical model, transforming the data into something more intuitive so he could find that special pattern and unravel the secret behind the System's heating.
That day, in the Base Small World.
Su Hao synchronized a day's worth of data gathered by the Computing Center into Marble Space. Then, within Marble Space, he simulated and manifested the entire planet, marking the locations of that day's disasters with densely packed red dots.
The statistics showed that more than two thousand disasters had occurred that day.
Su Hao observed them over and over for a long while, yet gained little. Deep in thought, he muttered to himself, "It looks like there's a pattern, but also no pattern at all. What exactly is it?"
It looked very much like those mathematical pattern problems he had done before—given a sequence of numbers, find the nth number...
If one knew the answer, solving it was effortless. If one did not know the answer, or if it was a type never encountered before, then finding the pattern would make one want to tear out a lock of hair.
Su Hao discarded every one of his ideas. Then, following the chronological order in which the disasters had occurred, he lit up the planet before him one point at a time. The result of his observation remained the same: "There's a pattern, but I don't know what the pattern is!"
This made Su Hao frown.
