Ch. 101Two Years

Over two years, Su Hao strengthened his body and advanced his genetic research with Ashan’s help. Ashan brought him a Level 2 Shapeshifter blood sample and revealed that he was ready to advance, so Su Hao agreed to help him find a Rampager.

  • Su Hao studied genetic differences and bodily strengthening while his senses, resilience, Blood Qi, and Radar range grew dramatically over two years.
  • Ashan became Su Hao’s assistant after Su Hao saved him from a Residual Poisoner, and he collected Inhuman blood samples while serving as a research subject.
  • Ashan brought Su Hao a Level 2 Shapeshifter blood sample, which Su Hao had not yet collected.
  • Ashan told Su Hao he had reached the peak of his body’s energy and could successfully advance into a Rampager.
  • Su Hao agreed to help Ashan find a Rampager, then handed him a large bottle and told him to fill it first.

Ch. 102Rampager

Ashan led Su Hao through the city to find a Rampager, and Su Hao used Light Absorption and footprint data to track one with Grandmaster-level Blood Qi. After Ashan identified the Rampager, Su Hao demanded two pieces of his flesh, and the chapter ended as Su Hao prepared his blade for a fight.

  • Ashan guided Su Hao to the site where a Rampager had fought a Shapeshifter, but the Rampager had already left.
  • Su Hao made Ashan and himself invisible in the darkness with Light Absorption, then used Little Light to collect footprints.
  • Su Hao identified a barefoot set of footprints matching Ashan's description and followed them to an approaching Inhuman with Grandmaster-level Blood Qi.
  • Ashan recognized the Inhuman as a Level 2 Rampager and admitted that the same-sequence level suppression made him too afraid to help.
  • Su Hao asked the Rampager for two pieces of flesh, and the Rampager refused by stomping the ground.
  • Su Hao drew his short blade and added Rune effects to prepare to break through the Rampager's shell armor.

Ch. 103Big Brother, Spare My Life

Su Hao and Ashan defeated Rampager, taking his flesh and blood before escaping to an abandoned house where Su Hao prepared to monitor Ashan’s evolution. Rampager healed his wounds and returned to Xiali, reporting that Xialuo had escaped and that he had encountered two mysterious people.

  • Su Hao blinded Rampager with Strong Light, dodged his punch, and stabbed him in the lower back with a short blade.
  • Rampager surrendered by cutting flesh from his own arm, and Ashan ate it while Su Hao collected Rampager’s blood.
  • Su Hao and Ashan fled to an abandoned house, where Ashan fell asleep and Su Hao arranged bottles to collect blood during his evolution.
  • Rampager regenerated his wounds and hurried to a safe building, where Xiali asked whether he had killed Xialuo.
  • Rampager told Xiali that Xialuo had escaped as a Night Owl and said he would report his encounter with two mysterious people to the leader.

Ch. 104Be Gentle

Leader An learned that Fude’s operation had failed and ordered him and Yiyi to make staged assassination attempts against targets from the Heaven Gate Society and the Divine Light Society. Meanwhile, Su Hao observed Ashan’s transformation into a Rampager and prepared to test his new shell armor, leaving Ashan apprehensive.

  • Fude told Leader An that the operation failed and described a mysterious small fighter and a Shen Armor Person who had forced him to cut off his arm.
  • Leader An said the city’s growing conflict could benefit their plans and promised to take Fude to a larger city after they advanced.
  • Leader An gave Fude portraits and imitation badges, ordering him and Yiyi to botch their first assassination attempts and kill their targets in the second.
  • Su Hao collected Ashan’s blood while observing his body repeatedly shift between human, blackened, and shell-armored forms.
  • Ashan woke after successfully becoming a Rampager, showed Su Hao his thick protective shell, and realized he had been used as an experimental subject.
  • Su Hao took out a bloodstained blade to test Ashan’s shell, prompting Ashan to ask him to be gentle.

Ch. 105Chaos (Second Update)

Su Hao tested Ashan’s carapace and healing, then learned that Temple Forest City had descended into gang warfare. As the Divine Light Society and Heaven Gate Society prepared for a clash, An and Speed Demon Flywheel led their groups toward the confrontation.

  • Su Hao pierced Ashan’s arm carapace with Blood Qi, and Ashan discovered that his wound could heal before Su Hao knocked him down for claiming to be invincible.
  • Over the next half year, Temple Forest City grew increasingly violent, and Ashan brought Su Hao blood samples while explaining that the Divine Light Society and Heaven Gate Society had begun fighting.
  • Su Hao warned Ashan to protect himself amid the chaos, then returned home and reflected that his Gene research might soon advance.
  • A month later, Fude told An that the two societies were gathering to fight, and An led the Six-Star Group out, promising they would leave with spoils.
  • Speed Demon Flywheel gathered the Divine Light Society’s seven members, sent them into the darkness near the city’s edge, and spotted Bone Demon.

Ch. 106Speed Demon and Bone Demon (Third Update)

Speed Demon Flywheel relentlessly attacked Bone Demon Deli, whose bone armor and body repeatedly regenerated despite severe wounds. Su Hao watched from hiding and realized the Inhumans’ abilities posed a serious threat, while Deli continued fighting after Flywheel nearly severed his head.

  • Speed Demon Flywheel used his speed and twin blades to ambush Bone Demon Deli, but Deli healed the wounds and countered with Bone Spikes.
  • Flywheel dodged Deli’s Burial of Heaven Spikes, cut through another eruption of spikes, severed both of Deli’s arms, and began grinding them apart when Deli tried to reattach them.
  • Su Hao woke to the distant battle, used Radar to approach, and saw Flywheel’s invisible attacks overwhelm Deli; he decided not to confront the Inhumans yet.
  • Bone Demon Deli regrew both arms, then survived Flywheel’s attempt to sever his head by holding it in place and stomping the ground as he used Heavenly Burial.

Ch. 107Shattered to Pieces

Su Hao watched Bone Demon Deli drive Speed Demon Flywheel across the city while learning how dangerous advanced Inhumans could be. Flywheel was suddenly cut to pieces, and Shadowless Beast An arrived at the scene as Thread Demon Sike remained inside a cocoon.

  • Deli used bone fragments clinging to Flywheel to track him and attacked him relentlessly, scattering Bone Spikes through the city and endangering ordinary people.
  • Su Hao decided not to intervene until he was better prepared, while An killed Cutting Beast and Counter-Spike Beast after they had weakened each other.
  • An sent Fude and Xiali to evolve using the corpses, then headed toward the battle, intending to advance into a Speed Demon.
  • Flywheel tried to outrun Deli, but his body abruptly split into pieces and fell apart.
  • Su Hao sensed Thread Demon Sike inside a cocoon beside Flywheel's remains, while Deli watched cautiously from a rooftop.
  • Shadowless Beast An arrived at Flywheel's remains and revealed himself.

Ch. 108I Want Revenge

Su Hao saved Ashan’s daughter Taini after finding Ashan’s wife and son dead. Ashan pledged to serve Su Hao and asked to take revenge.

  • An tricked Sike the Thread Demon into rushing to the Six-Star Group headquarters to retrieve an item, then vanished.
  • Sike left for the headquarters, and the Bone Demon collected the flesh from the battle and departed.
  • Su Hao headed home, detected Ashan nearby, and found him carrying his wounded wife and children.
  • Su Hao could not save Ashan’s wife and son, but used a healing Rune to save Taini.
  • Ashan thanked Su Hao and pledged to obey him; Su Hao asked him to serve without pay for two years, and Ashan said he wanted revenge.

Ch. 109Gaining Power

Su Hao agreed to help Ashan gain the power to kill the Bone Man in exchange for five years of service, secrecy, and a future favor. After testing Ashan’s transformed shell, Su Hao discovered it conducted Blood Qi exceptionally well and began teaching Ashan how to gain power.

  • Ashan begged Su Hao to help him avenge his family, and Su Hao offered to help after at least two years under three conditions.
  • Thread Demon Sike found An’s letter explaining that half the Level 5 Control King flesh and blood had been taken by the Night Demon, then destroyed the building in anger.
  • An reunited with his Six-Star Group outside South City, learned Fude and Xiali had advanced, and left with the others while Xiali stayed behind.
  • Su Hao moved Ashan and the injured Taini into a larger house, then asked Ashan to transform so he could study his shell.
  • Su Hao removed a piece of Ashan’s shell and found it retained excellent Blood Qi conductivity, making it a possible substitute for Gold Thread Worms.
  • Su Hao eagerly offered to teach Ashan how to gain power.

Ch. 110Ashan-brand Carapace Rune

Over the year, Su Hao advanced his gene research and developed a set of Runes for Ashan, while the Thread Demon terrorized Temple Forest City in search of Night Demon. Ashan set out with Su Hao to hunt a Counter-Spike Beast and attempt to evolve.

  • Su Hao taught Ashan to control Blood Qi and used tattoos to make Rune patterns persist on Ashan's carapace through his transformations.
  • Su Hao spent a year collecting Inhuman blood and deciphering gene sequences as the Thread Demon roamed Temple Forest City, torturing and killing people while searching for Night Demon.
  • Ashan mastered Blood Qi and a dozen Runes, then told Su Hao he had found a Counter-Spike Beast and wanted to hunt it so he could attempt to evolve.
  • Su Hao agreed to watch over Ashan, then distracted Taini by giving her a Round Mouse to play with.
  • After night fell, Su Hao and Ashan prepared and set out to hunt.

Ch. 111Boss of Temple Forest City

Su Hao helped Ashan kill a Counter-Spike Beast so Ashan could grow strong enough to avenge his family. A year later, after the Bone Demon and Thread Demon destroyed Su Hao’s new home, Su Hao decided to defeat them and take control of Temple Forest City.

  • Su Hao led Ashan to a Counter-Spike Beast and let him face it alone, while Su Hao stayed ready to intervene.
  • Ashan used Su Hao’s Runes to wound the Counter-Spike Beast, and Su Hao killed it before it could escape.
  • The Thread Demon arrived too late, blamed the Night Demon for stealing the Control King flesh and blood, and rampaged in frustration.
  • One year later, Su Hao’s strength and Perception had grown substantially, while the Thread Demon and Bone Demon continued fighting across the city.
  • After the two demons destroyed his new courtyard and endangered Taini, Su Hao resolved to kill them and make himself the master of Temple Forest City.

Ch. 113Action

Su Hao and Ashan launched a nighttime attack on the Bone Demon, while Su Hao left Ashan to fight Deli and went after the Thread Demon Sike. He discovered that Sike had surrounded his building with hidden threads and decided he could only attack head-on.

  • Su Hao and Ashan prepared their weapons and armor, and Su Hao warned Ashan to retreat if he could not defeat the Bone Demon.
  • Ashan ambushed Deli with a burst of corrosive spikes, then charged him to avenge his wife and son.
  • Deli’s Bone Spikes slowed Ashan and sent him flying, but Ashan’s defenses let him survive without injury.
  • Su Hao left Ashan to fight Deli and approached Sike’s building under the cover of Light Absorption and Air Piercing.
  • Su Hao discovered that dense, nearly invisible threads covered Sike’s building and decided he would have to charge in headlong.

Ch. 114Grenade Launcher

Su Hao ambushed the Thread Demon, Sike, with a triple explosive attack and pursued him through his thread defenses using Flame, High Temperature, and Corrosion. As Su Hao prepared to strike the cornered Sike, Sike recognized him as the Night Demon.

  • Su Hao coated three Twenty-Explosion spheres with Corrosion and High Temperature and fired them at Sike.
  • The blast badly wounded Sike, who fled while Su Hao pursued him.
  • Su Hao used High Temperature, Corrosion, and Fire Ring to burn through Sike’s threads and catch up with him.
  • Sike attacked with Thread Tide, Cutting Thread, and Penetration Thread, but Su Hao’s Flame destroyed or neutralized each attack.
  • Su Hao reached Sike and raised his blade, and Sike realized he was the Night Demon.

Ch. 115Still Alive?

Su Hao killed Sike and then helped Ashan defeat Deli, whose head Ashan had been unable to sever. The chapter ended with Su Hao destroying Deli's head after discovering he was still alive.

  • Su Hao burned away Sike's threads, severed his head, and burned his body before leaving with Sike's severed arm.
  • Su Hao found Ashan and Deli locked in a battle where both repeatedly healed from their wounds.
  • Ashan paralyzed Deli with Strong Electric Current and nearly severed his head, but could not finish the cut.
  • Su Hao threw a stone into Ashan's blade, sending it through Deli's neck and severing his head.
  • Su Hao pinned Deli's head beneath his boot and split it in two after Deli showed signs of being alive.

Ch. 116Big Rock

After helping Ashan avenge his family by killing the Bone Demon, Su Hao watched him evolve into a Level 4 Inhuman and join him in imposing order on Temple Forest City. Their nighttime sweep began with Su Hao knocking out several Inhumans, though one’s foul defensive gas left them both retching.

  • Su Hao reassured Ashan that he had personally killed the Bone Demon, then told him to carry the body back for study.
  • Ashan thanked Su Hao and said he wanted to protect ordinary people and restore peace in Temple Forest City.
  • The next day, Ashan evolved into a Level 4 Bone Demon while Su Hao collected data and studied the Bone Demon’s Gene Sequence.
  • Su Hao and Ashan went out at night to capture the city’s Inhumans, and Su Hao knocked out a female Level 2 Wanderer with a large stone.
  • Su Hao knocked out a Level 2 Tracker and a young Level 2 Loner, but the Loner’s yellow gas and black liquid made Su Hao and Ashan retch before Su Hao used a Nerve Paralysis Rune to settle them.

Ch. 117Guidance from Su Hao

Su Hao and Ashan captured Inhumans while chasing leads, and Su Hao taught Ashan how to manage the unconscious prisoners. The chapter ended with Su Hao knocking Shapeshifter Xialuo down again after she woke.

  • Cutting Beast Xiali cornered her older sister, Shapeshifter Xialuo, with Tracking Thread and prepared to kill her.
  • Su Hao knocked Xiali unconscious, then Ashan carried her and Xialuo away with the other captives.
  • Su Hao decided Ashan could not carry all the prisoners and woke them so they could walk.
  • Su Hao demonstrated how to intimidate a Mimic into obeying, teaching Ashan his approach to communication.
  • When Xialuo sprang up after Su Hao slapped her awake, Su Hao sent her flying with another slap.

Ch. 118Inhuman Code of Conduct

Su Hao and Ashan subdued Temple Forest City's Inhumans and gathered more than nine hundred of them outside the city. Su Hao announced himself as their boss and laid out a code of conduct, leaving Ashan sweating when Su Hao asked whether he had memorized it.

  • Su Hao captured Shapeshifter Xialuo, and Ashan beat Cutting Beast Xiali before Su Hao killed her when she attacked everyone around her.
  • Su Hao and Ashan rounded up the Inhumans across Temple Forest City, punishing those who tried to escape until the others followed quietly.
  • Su Hao led more than nine hundred Inhumans out of the city and declared himself their boss, naming Ashan as his assistant.
  • Su Hao announced the two core ideas and three principles of the Inhuman Code of Conduct, and the crowd complained that it was too difficult to remember.
  • Su Hao asked Ashan whether he had memorized the code, and Ashan panicked.

Ch. 119A Beautiful Day

Su Hao established order in Temple Forest City through rules and Ashan’s new Temple Forest Society, creating a safe base for his gene research. With the city stabilized, Su Hao prepared to organize his findings and investigate the secret of Zhu Huo People’s gene-devouring evolution.

  • Su Hao had Ashan recruit and train capable Inhumans to enforce the Inhuman Code of Conduct and build a ranked organization with benefits.
  • Over the next two months, Temple Forest Society punished rule-breakers, and Temple Forest City’s atmosphere improved under Boss Wei and Ashan.
  • Ashan secured Su Hao’s supplies and set aside a quiet, fenced Experimental Base for his research.
  • Su Hao returned to the Research Base, refused Taini’s offer to raise his Round Mouse, and sent her to ask Ashan how it could have babies.
  • Su Hao reviewed his blood samples and resolved to organize his Gene Sequence research after realizing the secret behind Zhu Huo People’s gene-devouring evolution.

Ch. 120Cas9

Su Hao discovered that Zhu Huo People’s genes contained a bacterial-style system of genetic fragments, an Armory, and a Controller, and concluded that Cas9 could eventually let him edit genes. A year later, he had chosen the Shen Armor Person Sequence for his own evolution, while Ashan’s Temple Forest Society had made Temple Forest City peaceful and left Su Hao widely recognized as its boss.

  • Su Hao compared gene sequences and found that Zhu Huo People had a database, an Armory, and a suspected Controller similar to bacterial DNA.
  • Su Hao realized that controlling Cas9 could let him modify genes at will, though he could not yet synthesize it.
  • Su Hao chose the Shen Armor Person Sequence for his planned evolution because it best suited his use of Runes.
  • A year passed, and Ashan’s Temple Forest Society grew to more than twenty Level 2 or higher Inhumans who enforced rules and maintained order in Temple Forest City.
  • Temple Forest City’s residents greeted Su Hao as Boss Wei as he walked through the peaceful city.

Ch. 121A Method for Creating Innate Divine Abilities

Su Hao considered how mastering gene editing could let him create Innate Divine Abilities and inheritable Supergod Bloodlines, then decided to evolve into a Shen Armor Person to advance his research. The chapter ended with him swallowing prepared Shen Armor Person flesh to begin the experiment.

  • Su Hao reviewed his gene research and concluded that he still needed a way to synthesize CEISPR-Cas9 without relying on the Transformation Chamber.
  • Su Hao reasoned that controlling genes could let him create Innate Divine Abilities for himself and others, potentially establishing inheritable Supergod Bloodlines.
  • After two months, Su Hao decided to evolve into a Shen Armor Person, relying on what he had learned from Ashan's evolution and his own research.
  • Su Hao ordered Ashan to guard the base for five hours and keep everyone, including himself and Taini, away from the laboratory.
  • Su Hao checked his preparations, swallowed the sterilized Shen Armor Person flesh, and wondered what would happen if an ordinary person ate flesh from a Level 2 Inhuman.
