Standing in the corner and listening to Old Gick teach King Luffy, Rayleigh's eyes widened in uncertainty.
What did that mean?
His original plan had been to help King Luffy build a foundation in the Three types of Haki before sending him out into the New World.

Just as Old Gick was about to say more, a magnetic voice rang out from the corner, interrupting his lesson.
A slovenly old man draped in a white cape slowly emerged.

King Luffy shouted in delight.
Old Gick, on the other hand, did not look nearly as pleased. His eyes widened for a moment before seeming to burst into flames.
The little old man leaped up in rage.
"Rayleigh!!! Why are you here, you bastard!!!"
"Did that bastard Roger come too?!!! Tell him to come out and face me!!!"
Seeing an old enemy made Old Gick's eyes blaze as he shouted.
"Don't get so worked up, Gick. I came alone. Roger has already gone..."
A trace of complicated reluctance surfaced in Rayleigh's eyes before quickly vanishing. He smiled.
"I came to help Luffy grow stronger."

Old Gick's expression changed as if he had recalled something from many years ago.
