The dark, enormous prison seemed somewhat empty now.

After all, not just any riffraff was worth locking up here. Since the prisoners' escape two years ago, very few Great Pirates had entered this place.

And one of those rare few was now standing there, gazing outside.

A figure stood beyond the bars.

"Fuffuffuffuffu~"

"Is this for real? You actually came to rescue me? I might just fall for you~"

"Shut up, Doflamingo."

The figure outside the bars wore a sable coat, a golden hook fitted over one hand. Tall and shadowy, she stared grimly at the arrogant blond man behind the bars.

"If you've fallen in love with this place and don't want to leave, I can execute you right here."

At those words, Little Mingo stopped trading barbs, though the smile on his face did not fade in the slightest.

Light glinted off his sinister red sunglasses, and excitement curled at the corners of his mouth.

"Fuffuffuffu... what an irritable crocodile~"

"I saw it in the papers. I heard you're working under that Buggy now? Is that true~?"

Little Mingo changed angles to tease her. Though he did not say it outright, Crocodile felt that he was mocking her and could only stubbornly reply,

"That was Austin's idea~"

"Hm???"

"You know what he's like. Without his permission, no one on this sea can find Laugh Tale, so this is merely a temporary measure."

Naturally, Crocodile did not want to admit before Doflamingo that someone as proud as her had resigned herself to working under Buggy, so she could only use Austin as a shield.

And Doflamingo clearly believed her.

After all, nothing was strange if it was blamed on Austin.

That man never played by the rules.
