Ch. 226The First Tailed Beast

Genitsu and Kazue defeated the Hidden Cloud forces, captured the Two-Tails and Yugito Nii, and forced the Fourth Raikage and Killer B to retreat. Shin escaped with the Amber Purifying Pot as Genitsu set out to claim Kumogakure's Turtle Island.

  • Shin took control of the Amber Purifying Pot, while Genitsu attacked the fleeing Hidden Cloud ninja and Kazue fought Shin with Susanoo.
  • Genitsu and Kazue battled the Eight-Tails and Two-Tails as Kakashi's team hunted down the retreating Hidden Cloud ninja.
  • The Fourth Raikage and Killer B escaped, abandoning Yugito Nii after Genitsu sealed the Two-Tails.
  • Genitsu subdued Yugito Nii, dismissed her warning about his information being exposed, and dragged her away.
  • Shin fled with the Amber Purifying Pot, and Genitsu told Kazue to pursue him while he headed to claim Kumogakure's Turtle Island.

Ch. 227Foundation of the Holy Land

Genitsu took Yugito Nii after the battle and headed into the Land of Lightning to find Turtle Island, intending to make its giant turtle the foundation of his holy land. Kazue defeated Shin Uchiha but let him live, and Genitsu located the turtle as the chapter ended.

  • Obito watched Genitsu take Yugito Nii and left, while the victorious Konoha forces cleared the battlefield and the Uchiha and Hyuga clansmen argued over the appearance of another Mangekyō Sharingan user.
  • Kazue pursued Shin Uchiha, exposed his weak control of his Mangekyō Sharingan, cut off his left arm, and left him alive after taking it.
  • Kazue returned to the others with Shin's severed arm and claimed she had only gained a slight advantage; she then learned Genitsu had left with Yugito Nii.
  • Genitsu carried Yugito Nii toward the Land of Lightning, where she and the Two-Tails tried to plan an escape by breaking the Four Symbols Seal.
  • Genitsu revealed he was searching for Turtle Island, then spread a radiation cloud across the sea and found the giant turtle.

Ch. 228The Sacred Land That Ruled Life

Genitsu took Yugito to Turtle Island and used Godzilla’s power to assimilate the giant turtle, revealing to her that he was Void and the First Hokage. After returning to Konoha with Yugito, he asked Minato to hand the Two-Tails’ jinchūriki over to Root.

  • Genitsu brought Yugito to Turtle Island, killed its guards, and began assimilating the giant turtle with Planet Godzilla’s power.
  • The giant turtle and the island’s vegetation transformed, and Genitsu told Yugito that he was Void and that there had never been a First Hokage besides him.
  • Genitsu sealed Yugito’s tongue, summoned Sub-Body Godzilla to guard Turtle Island, and took Yugito back to Konoha.
  • The Fourth Raikage learned that Yugito, the Amber Purifying Pot, and Turtle Island were lost, while Mabui urged him to negotiate with Konoha for the Two-Tails.
  • Minato discussed the second Madara with Kazue, then welcomed Genitsu back with Yugito and praised the capture.
  • Genitsu asked Minato to hand Yugito over to Root so he could make greater use of her value, surprising Minato.

Ch. 229Give Me Yourself Already

Genitsu convinced Minato to keep the Two-Tails in Konoha and proposed Kakashi as its next Jinchuriki, while Minato agreed to let Root study it. Genitsu extracted the Two-Tails from Yugito Nii and prepared to consume it, leaving the beast’s fate—and Kakashi’s possible role—unresolved.

  • Minato rejected Genitsu’s request to place the Two-Tails under Root’s control but agreed that Konoha would keep it and let Genitsu study it.
  • Genitsu recommended Kakashi as the next Two-Tails Jinchuriki, and Minato agreed to discuss the plan with him.
  • Utatane Koharu and Mitokado Homura objected to keeping the Two-Tails and involving Root, but Minato told them the decision had already been made.
  • Genitsu brought Yugito Nii to Root’s base and dismantled the Iron Armor Seal despite her protests.
  • The Two-Tails told Yugito Nii its name was Matatabi before Genitsu extracted it, killing her; he ordered Iroha to preserve her body.
  • Genitsu told Iroha he would taste the Two-Tails before deciding what to do with it.

Ch. 230The Fallen Cosmic Overlord

Genitsu devoured Two-Tails’ Chakra, awakening a response from Planet Godzilla and gaining enough power to surpass the Kage level. He suspected Planet Godzilla was injured and suppressed by the Shinobi World, then feared that King Ghidorah might have caused its injuries.

  • Genitsu restrained Two-Tails and began tearing away its Chakra, explaining that the process could divide a Tailed Beast’s Chakra share.
  • Planet Godzilla stirred as Two-Tails’ Chakra flowed into it, then reached through Genitsu and crushed Two-Tails, reclaiming its Chakra.
  • Genitsu recovered from the strain and sensed that Planet Godzilla’s power had made him strong enough to defeat Nine-Tails and surpass the Kage level.
  • Genitsu examined the claw that had emerged from his body and suspected Planet Godzilla was injured and unable to awaken because of the Shinobi World’s suppression.
  • Genitsu worried that King Ghidorah, a higher-dimensional being, might have inflicted Planet Godzilla’s injuries.

Ch. 231The Two-Tails? Never Heard of It, Never Seen It

Genitsu devoured most of the Two-Tails' Chakra, sealed the remainder into Kakashi, and deceived the Fourth Hokage and Hidden Cloud about the beast's fate. After Konoha's seizure of the Two-Tails stirred outrage, Genitsu met with Obito and then confronted Shin, whom he intended to use as an experimental subject.

  • Genitsu explained the Two-Tails' partial revival to Kakashi, who agreed to conceal what happened and let Genitsu seal the remaining Chakra into him.
  • Genitsu reassured Iroha that Kakashi could be trusted, and Kakashi kept the truth from the Fourth Hokage, who examined the two seals on his body.
  • Genitsu showed the Hidden Cloud envoys Yugito Nii's corpse, denied knowing where the Two-Tails was, and left them gravely injured after they demanded the body.
  • Konoha's seizure of a second Tailed Beast angered the other villages, while Genitsu visited Obito and heard that the impostor and the Eye Organization had caught Obito's attention.
  • Genitsu confronted Shin at the Valley of the End, rejected his excuse for acting without authorization, and prepared to make him an experimental subject.

Ch. 232The Routine

After peace settled between Konoha and Hidden Cloud, Genitsu trained Sasuke and observed the effects of the boys’ changing chakra. Orochimaru failed to recruit Genitsu or obtain Uchiha subjects, then enlisted Mizuki to get close to him.

  • Hidden Cloud signed a peace agreement with Konoha and left without further conflict, abandoning its claim to the Two-Tails.
  • Genitsu trained Sasuke, praised his Fireball Jutsu, and continued injecting him with Naruto Cells while considering how Indra Chakra and Asura Chakra were affecting Sasuke and Naruto.
  • Orochimaru approached Genitsu with offers of an alliance, the Hokage position, and immortality research in exchange for Uchiha clan members, but Genitsu refused and destroyed his controlled corpse.
  • Orochimaru returned in disguise and approached Mizuki, promising to help him if he found a way to get close to Genitsu and become his student.

Ch. 233Finally, the Wait Was Over

Orochimaru visited Konoha, observed Naruto and Sasuke, then attacked the Uchiha Police Force and stole the Sharingan from its members. As Minato prepared to respond and the Uchiha clan demanded action, Uchiha Setsuna volunteered to lead a search team.

  • Orochimaru gave Mizuki a body-modification training scroll and injected him with a drug to stimulate his training.
  • Orochimaru watched Naruto and Sasuke fight in a ramen shop, then escaped after Iroha noticed him with his Byakugan.
  • Yashiro interrupted Naruto and Sasuke's fight, praised Sasuke, and led him away with the Uchiha Police Force.
  • Orochimaru ambushed the Uchiha Police Force, dug out the Sharingan of its members, and left Yashiro alive but paralyzed by poison.
  • Minato ordered a response to Orochimaru while the Uchiha clan met to demand action against him.
  • Fugaku asked Uchiha Setsuna for his opinion, and Setsuna volunteered to lead a team searching for Orochimaru.

Ch. 234Izumi, Izanami

Fugaku’s clan meeting uncovered Hōkaku’s suspicion that Immortal was Naori Uchiha, the ancient creator of Izanami, and Kazue took the forbidden technique to study. At home, Izumi proudly showed Kazue her exam results and insisted she wanted to learn Izanami too.

  • Setsuna volunteered to lead a mission, winning the support of several Uchiha clansmen while Fugaku remained suspicious of his motives.
  • Hōkaku reported that clan records pointed to Immortal being Naori Uchiha, a Warring States-era Mangekyō Sharingan user who created Izanami.
  • The Uchiha argued over Naori and Orochimaru before the clan meeting ended, and Kazue asked Fugaku for the Izanami scroll.
  • Kazue returned home and praised Izumi’s strong exam results, then warned her to be cautious around Kabuto and suggested she spend time with Itachi.
  • Izumi learned that the scroll held Izanami and insisted she wanted to learn the forbidden technique, though Kazue only agreed to let her look at it for now.

Ch. 235Jōgan

Genitsu oversaw Iroha’s transformation after transplanting parts of Toneri’s father’s body, and Iroha’s Byakugan evolved into a Jōgan that could expose the Caged Bird Seal’s weaknesses. Iroha partially disabled the seal and returned to the Hyuga compound, where Huomen confronted him over his connection to Root.

  • Minato accepted Otogakure’s vassalage agreement, suspected its envoy was concealing Orochimaru’s presence, and ordered Genitsu to hunt Orochimaru.
  • Kabuto reported that Iroha had survived the transplantation of Toneri’s father’s body, and Genitsu observed Iroha’s Byakugan evolve into a Jōgan.
  • Genitsu ordered Iroha to test his new eye against the Caged Bird Seal, and Iroha used its vision to sever a Chakra pathway and prevent the seal from controlling or killing him.
  • Kabuto warned Iroha that the Jōgan could affect the Hyuga Clan and connect to the Ōtsutsuki, but Iroha left the Root base for the Hyuga compound.
  • Huomen confronted Iroha about his connection to Root and reacted with envy to the power of Iroha’s new eye.

Ch. 236The Fall of the Branch Family

Huomen broke into the Hyuga Clan’s Sealing Scroll with help from Orochimaru and discovered that it could control the Caged Bird Seals, then began plotting to seize power within the branch family. Meanwhile, Mui led Kusagakure’s delegation to negotiate an alliance with Konoha, where Genitsu demanded a larger share of its mission fees.

  • Huomen secretly met Orochimaru, who agreed to provide instructions for breaking the Sealing Scroll in exchange for one Byakugan.
  • Huomen opened the Sealing Scroll, learned that it could control branch-family members’ Caged Bird Seals, and decided to build power by targeting them and eventually taking eyes from the main family.
  • Huomen chose a mediocre chunin from the branch family as his first target for control.
  • Mui led Kusagakure’s delegation through Konoha, where its members endured the Uchiha Clan’s contempt.
  • Mui offered Minato an alliance and 5% of Kusagakure’s mission fees, but Genitsu demanded at least 20%.

Ch. 237Hiring

Mui negotiated an alliance with Konoha, then returned to Hozuki Castle and tried to use its prisoners to awaken the Box of Bliss. When that failed, he hired Akatsuki to gather the Chakra it needed, prompting Nagato to send the mission to Kakuzu and Hiruko while secretly monitoring them.

  • Minato agreed that Kusagakure would give Konoha fifteen percent of its mission rewards in exchange for protection, and Mui left Konoha after noticing Naruto's immense Chakra.
  • Mui returned to Hozuki Castle, defeated prisoners who challenged him, and ordered criminals thrown into the Box of Bliss, but it still did not open.
  • Mui posted a bounty specifically requesting Akatsuki and an operative with enormous Chakra, and Kakuzu considered taking the job disguised as Kisame.
  • Kakuzu and Hiruko reported the mission to Nagato, who approved it and ordered White Zetsu to monitor their work in the Land of Grass.

Ch. 238Wish

After Nagato assigned Kisame and Might Duy to investigate Hozuki Castle, they arrived to find other ninja investigating the fortress as well. Setsuna entered in secret, hoping to use the Box of Bliss to regain his youth, as Mui prepared to open it.

  • Nagato refused Black Zetsu’s request to investigate and sent Kisame and Might Duy to Hozuki Castle to complete a mission.
  • Kisame and Might Duy gathered intelligence near Hozuki Castle, then entered after White Zetsu reported that Konoha’s team and other unidentified people were investigating the fortress.
  • Kisame threatened Hozuki Castle’s guide over the reward, while Might Duy’s enthusiastic backflip ruined Kisame’s intimidation.
  • Setsuna entered Hozuki Castle undercover and resolved to seek the Box of Bliss, hoping it would restore his youth and help him pursue his ambitions for the Uchiha clan.
  • As other teams arrived, Mui prepared to open the Box of Bliss without delay.

Ch. 239The Opened Box of Bliss

Lord Mui fed prisoners and Kisame’s Chakra to the demonic face to open the Box of Bliss, while Konoha’s team and other hidden arrivals watched. The box emerged, and Setsuna prepared to attack as an aged voice gave the signal.

  • Konoha’s team arrived at the plaza and discovered Akatsuki members, Setsuna’s group, and other mysterious figures gathered there.
  • Mui opened the building and had his guards seize and feed the prisoners to the demonic face, which swallowed them while demanding more Chakra.
  • Might Duy said Samehada was afraid of what lay inside the building, while Kisame watched the massacre and eventually gave up most of his Chakra.
  • Mui ordered his shinobi to attack Setsuna’s group and the lone man in black, but both groups easily defeated or evaded their attackers.
  • Kisame’s Chakra filled the demonic face, which erupted and revealed the Box of Bliss; as Mui approached it, an aged voice ordered an attack and Setsuna raised his head, ready to strike.

Ch. 240Might Guy, You've Grown

Setsuna tried to seize the Box of Bliss, but Mui and Kisame drove him back while Guy fought a masked taijutsu master who proved to be his father, Might Duy. Duy survived Guy’s Morning Peacock and challenged him to continue, as an unknown observer prepared to act.

  • Setsuna ordered the Uchiha members to help him reach the Box of Bliss, but Kisame and Mui stopped them, and Ibiki questioned Setsuna’s authority.
  • Guy charged Kisame to protect the others, then clashed with a masked man who matched every taijutsu technique he used.
  • The masked man revealed himself as Might Duy, and Guy learned that his father had returned from the dead and joined the Akatsuki for his own reasons.
  • Guy opened the Sixth Gate and attacked Duy with Morning Peacock, but Duy’s body healed without lasting injury.
  • Duy told Guy he would not let him pass and began a second round of their battle, while an unknown observer finally prepared to act.

Ch. 241The Revived... Indra?

At Hozuki Castle, the Box of Bliss produced Gō, who called himself Indra and fused with Uchiha Setsuna, granting him a young body and powerful Sharingan. Setsuna defeated Kisame’s water technique and began awakening a Mangekyō Sharingan.

  • The Sage of Six Paths sensed the Box of Bliss opening at Hozuki Castle and noticed Iroha’s unusual eye power, while Iroha arrived to investigate the box for Genitsu.
  • Mui and Setsuna both made wishes before the Box of Bliss, but its response appeared to favor Setsuna’s wish for youth and powerful eyes.
  • A man emerged from the box, identified himself as Gō and Indra, and claimed to be the Uchiha clan’s ancestor.
  • Indra immobilized Mui, then fused with Setsuna, restoring Setsuna’s youth and giving him immense vitality and ocular power.
  • Setsuna spared the last Uchiha survivor, countered Kisame’s Five Feeding Sharks with Phoenix Sage Fire, and began transforming his Three-Tomoe Sharingan toward a Mangekyō.

Ch. 242Ghost

Setsuna used the Box of Bliss to regain his youth and awaken a powerful Mangekyō Sharingan, but the demon Gō had parasitized him. After Setsuna killed Mui, Genitsu arrived, explained that Setsuna was an imitation of Indra, and ordered Iroha to stop him and secure the Box of Bliss.

  • Setsuna regained his youth and awakened a six-pointed Mangekyō Sharingan as Gō's negative energy surrounded him.
  • Setsuna attacked Kisame and Might Duy with Amaterasu, while Duy dodged the flames and Kisame flooded the plaza with Water Release.
  • Setsuna broke through Mui's Heavenly Prison seal and killed him with a blue Susanoo hand.
  • Iroha summoned Genitsu's clone, who identified Setsuna as Gō's imitation of Indra and explained that Madara and Second Pillar were Indra's reincarnations.
  • Genitsu ordered Iroha to kill Setsuna and take control of the Box of Bliss, then recruited him into the Eye Organization as Ghost.

Ch. 243Reclaiming Indra's Eye

Genitsu sent Iroha to confront Setsuna, whose Mangekyō Sharingan and the demon Gō gave him an edge over Kisame and Might Duy. Iroha revealed Gō’s fear-sensing ability and announced that the Eye Organization had come to reclaim Setsuna and his eyes.

  • Genitsu warned Iroha that Gō could sense fear and sent him to kill Setsuna, while Genitsu set out to secure the Box of Bliss.
  • Setsuna used his Mangekyō Sharingan to evade Kisame’s attacks, and Might Duy arrived to break through Setsuna’s Susanoo before retreating with Kisame.
  • Setsuna drove Kisame and Duy back with Susanoo and Amaterasu until Iroha appeared and challenged him.
  • Iroha explained that Gō read fear rather than predicting movements, accounting for Setsuna’s advantage over Kisame but not Duy.
  • Iroha identified himself as the Eye Organization’s Ghost and declared that he had come by Genitsu’s order to reclaim Setsuna.

Ch. 244Jōgan VS Indra's Eye

Iroha revealed his Jōgan and used its ability to see Chakra pathways to dismantle Setsuna’s Susanoo and repel Amaterasu. Setsuna escalated his Susanoo toward its third stage, while Genitsu judged Iroha’s performance and returned his attention to the large box.

  • Iroha transformed his Byakugan into the Jōgan and faced Setsuna without fear.
  • Iroha saw the Chakra nodes in Setsuna’s Susanoo and used Gentle Fist techniques to disrupt its flow and destroy it.
  • Iroha struck Setsuna through the weakened Susanoo, but Setsuna retaliated with Amaterasu, which Iroha deflected using an enlarged Heavenly Rotation.
  • Setsuna repaired Susanoo, gathered Amaterasu flames, and began strengthening Susanoo with armor as Iroha prepared to continue fighting.
  • Genitsu praised Iroha for provoking Setsuna, then shifted his attention to the large box.

Ch. 245Seized

Iroha and Setsuna's battle set Hozuki Castle ablaze while Genitsu claimed the Box of Bliss and summoned it to Konoha. With the box gone, Gō urged Setsuna to finish the fight quickly, and Iroha prepared to end the battle and take Setsuna's eyes.

  • Iroha and Setsuna fought fiercely as Setsuna's black flames spread through Hozuki Castle, and Anko, Ibiki, and Guy fled while carrying away crucial intelligence.
  • Genitsu examined the Box of Bliss, concluded it gathered Chakra and negative emotions, and began covering it with sealing formulas.
  • Kisame and Duy attacked Genitsu, but Genitsu avoided them with a clone and summoned the Box of Bliss to Konoha.
  • Kisame and Duy abandoned the failed mission and withdrew, while Duy hid his satisfaction that Genitsu had secured the box.
  • Gō urged Setsuna to defeat Iroha and recover the Box of Bliss, and Iroha resolved to end their fight and take Setsuna's eyes.
