Ch. 307Mangekyō Sharingan VS Hydrification Technique

Genitsu considered Iroha's prospects for controlling the Giant Tenseigan while the Chūnin Exams ended and Shin confronted Hozuki Mangetsu over his swords. The chapter left Shin and Mangetsu beginning a fight, while Huomen found a damaged platform on the moon that might take him back to the Shinobi World.

  • Genitsu told Iroha that he might be able to control the Giant Tenseigan, and Iroha reported that his power had stabilized.
  • Kirigakure's team left Konoha, and Shin rejected Minato's attempt to keep him before Setsuna challenged him at the village gates.
  • Iroha stopped Shin and Setsuna from fighting, then Shin left to pursue Hozuki Mangetsu while Setsuna returned to the village without learning Shin's identity.
  • Mangetsu investigated the ruined battlefield with Utakata, Kimimaro, and Haku, but Shin arrived and demanded Mangetsu's swords.
  • Mangetsu sent Utakata, Kimimaro, and Haku away and attacked Shin, whose weapons failed against Mangetsu's Hydrification Technique before Shin produced the Amber Purifying Pot.
  • On the moon, Huomen found a damaged wooden platform that he recognized as a possible route back to the Shinobi World.

Ch. 308He Had Grown Stronger

Shin fought Hōzuki Mangetsu and Utakata, using his Mangekyō Sharingan to seize Mangetsu’s swords and kill him with them. As Shin prepared to attack Utakata, a battered wooden platform fell from the sky.

  • Shin used reflected images of his Mangekyō Sharingan to trap Hōzuki Mangetsu in a genjutsu, but Utakata arrived and freed him.
  • Utakata revealed that he could use the Six-Tails’ Chakra, and he and Mangetsu joined forces against Shin.
  • Shin marked Mangetsu’s Blunt Sword and Blast Sword, took control of them, and used the Blast Sword’s explosions to kill Mangetsu.
  • Shin knocked Utakata away with the Blunt Sword and prepared to attack him.
  • A battered wooden platform fell from the sky and crashed to the ground.

Ch. 309Encountering One of My Own Kind...

Shin captured Utakata and fought Huomen, a Hyuga who had returned from the moon and claimed approval to join the Eye Organization. The two discovered that they both boosted their ocular power through external means, and Ghost appeared as their awkward standoff ended.

  • Shin defeated Utakata with his Ninja Swords and sealed him inside the Amber Purifying Pot.
  • Huomen climbed out of the crater after returning from the moon and approached Shin, claiming someone had approved his entry into the Eye Organization.
  • Shin attacked Huomen, but Huomen used ocular power drawn from his scroll to counter Shin’s ninja tools and swords.
  • Shin and Huomen both increased their ocular power through external means, recognized that they were alike, and stopped fighting in awkward silence.
  • Ghost appeared and confronted the two, while Huomen said he forgave Ghost for attacking him during the rebellion.

Ch. 310All the Hokage Were Helpless

Huomen escaped Konoha after clashing with Shin and was denied entry into the Eye Organization by Iroha, while Konoha’s leaders tried to make sense of the forces surrounding the Hyuga Clan. The chapter ended with Minato ordering an investigation into Konoha residents who had disappeared, suspecting that the Eye Organization’s Monster had once lived in the village.

  • Iroha stopped Shin from attacking onlookers, and Huomen asked whether he could develop eyes like Iroha’s Jōgan.
  • Iroha told Huomen he was not an Eye Organization member and ordered him to leave; Iroha and Shin departed after Shin revealed he had sealed someone with Six-Tails Chakra in the Amber Purifying Pot.
  • Huomen confronted Tokuma and then fought off Konoha ninja with an enlarged-range Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm, escaping despite his poor condition.
  • Minato reviewed reports about Huomen, the Hamura statue, and the Sealing Scroll, and inferred that a mysterious clan related to the Hyuga Clan might be watching the Shinobi World.
  • Minato ordered a review of Konoha’s household records, suspecting that the Eye Organization’s Monster had grown up in the village.

Ch. 311I Lived Again, Damn It

Genitsu assembled the Eye Organization, assigned missions to find rare ocular bloodlines, and let Shin set out to attack Kirigakure alone. Meanwhile, Orochimaru revived in a secret base in the Land of Water and learned that Shiranui Genitsu had destroyed Ryūchi Cave and killed the White Snake Sage.

  • Minato investigated former Orochimaru experiment subjects for Monster's identity, but found no proof that Shin was Monster.
  • Shin presented Genitsu with the Blunt Sword, the Blast Sword, the Amber Purifying Pot, and Utakata, but Genitsu dismissed Utakata's small reserve of Six-Tails Chakra.
  • Shin and Setsuna argued over who could defeat Kirigakure, and Genitsu allowed Shin to go alone while forbidding Setsuna from joining him.
  • Genitsu ordered the Eye Organization to leave Hyuga Kaimon alive, search for ocular jutsu users, and investigate the surviving Chinoike and the Red Eye; he also told them not to provoke Akatsuki unless its members attacked first.
  • Setsuna remained at the organization's base as Shin departed for Iron Country to obtain shinobi tools before heading toward Kirigakure.
  • Orochimaru revived at a secret base in the Land of Water, took an unlucky man's body, and learned from Jūgo that Shiranui Genitsu had destroyed Ryūchi Cave and killed the White Snake Sage.

Ch. 312Cutting Down the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path

After learning that Ryūchi Cave and the White Snake Sage had fallen, Orochimaru sought a path to study Godzilla and immortality, while Genitsu rejected his offer of a deal. Orochimaru then joined the Akatsuki meeting, where Nagato announced the start of the Tailed Beast capture plan, and Orochimaru eyed the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path.

  • Orochimaru learned that Genitsu had destroyed Ryūchi Cave and killed the White Snake Sage, then summoned Tagorihime and asked her to arrange a meeting with the Sage Godzilla.
  • Orochimaru abandoned his base with Jūgo and considered leaving the Akatsuki, seeking talented recruits and a chance to join the Eye Organization.
  • Tagorihime reported Orochimaru’s request to Genitsu, who dismissed the idea of giving Orochimaru access to the Godzilla Sanctuary.
  • Genitsu kept Toneri’s soul imprisoned in Takamagahara, and Tagorihime realized that Genitsu was also the Eye Organization’s leader before he warned her to keep silent.
  • Nagato summoned the Akatsuki members, including Orochimaru, and announced that their plan to capture every Tailed Beast had begun.
  • Orochimaru ignored Nagato’s announcement and studied the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, wondering whether he could take a piece of it before defecting.

Ch. 313Defection

Akatsuki began its Tailed Beast operation, but Orochimaru defected after stealing a piece of the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, prompting Nagato to order a hunt for him. Genitsu dismissed the disturbance and turned his attention to Naruto and Sasuke’s progress at the Ninja Academy.

  • Nagato ordered Akatsuki to gather intelligence on the Tailed Beasts and the Eye Organization, while Black Zetsu and White Zetsu remained at his side.
  • Orochimaru attacked the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, cut off a piece, and announced that he was defecting because Nagato could not provide the eyes or Forbidden Techniques he wanted.
  • Nagato blasted Orochimaru away with Shinra Tensei, but Orochimaru escaped using a Substitution Technique, so Nagato ordered Akatsuki to hunt him and recover his ring.
  • Genitsu learned of Orochimaru’s defection and decided not to intervene, expecting Nagato to be the one troubled by the fallout.
  • Genitsu reviewed the Academy results: Sasuke dominated theory and non-combat classes, while Naruto won their sparring matches and took first place.

Ch. 314"My Hokage Father"

At the Academy, Naruto and Sasuke competed in an essay test about family, each writing about his famous father and earning the class’s top score. Naruto went home hoping to show his father, but after waiting alone for hours, he was visited by Void, whom he asked to take him into Akatsuki.

  • Sasuke and Rock Lee fought on the playground, while Naruto mocked Sasuke and challenged him to a match before the class bell stopped them.
  • Genitsu assigned an essay about family, and Naruto titled his “My Hokage Father” while Sasuke wrote about being the heir to the Shinobi World’s number one noble clan.
  • Naruto and Sasuke argued over their essay titles, but Genitsu pinned them to their seats and later gave each of them ninety-five points.
  • Naruto rushed home to show his test paper to his father, waited for hours without seeing him, and argued with the Nine-Tails.
  • Void appeared inside Naruto, and Naruto asked him to take him into Akatsuki.

Ch. 315Zabuza Momochi Has Returned

Naruto considered joining the Akatsuki, while Kirigakure’s leaders reacted to the deaths at the Chūnin Exams and Zabuza Momochi launched a rebellion against Yagura. The battle plunged Kirigakure into chaos, which Orochimaru watched with delight.

  • Naruto told Void he wanted to join the Akatsuki, but Void warned him that he knew too little about the organization.
  • Kimimaro and Haku reported the deaths of Chōjūrō, Mangetsu, and Utakata to Kirigakure’s leaders, who blamed Konoha and the Eye Organization.
  • Yagura killed a dissenter during the meeting, and the remaining leaders privately acknowledged their fear that something was wrong with him.
  • Genji arranged for Zabuza Momochi to attack Yagura, promising to clear Zabuza’s name if he helped save Kirigakure.
  • Zabuza attacked Yagura, whose Three-Tails power and Water Mirror Technique thwarted the assault as the Kaguya Clan joined the fighting and Kirigakure erupted into turmoil.
  • Orochimaru watched the rebellion from a cliff and welcomed the chance to exploit the chaos.

Ch. 316Shin: Orochimaru, You Haven't Died, Have You?

Orochimaru infiltrated Kirigakure during the unrest to recruit young clan geniuses, but Kimimaro and Suigetsu rejected him and the Hidden Mist forces drove him into a fight. Shin intervened, slaughtered his pursuers, and revealed himself to Orochimaru before Orochimaru lunged for Shin’s Mangekyō Sharingan.

  • Orochimaru entered the Kaguya Clan’s territory and tried to recruit Kimimaro, who attacked him and refused to leave the village.
  • Orochimaru approached Hozuki Suigetsu, but Suigetsu rejected him and called the Hōzuki Clan to surround him.
  • The Hōzuki Clan raised the alarm, and Genji ordered the Hidden Mist forces to hunt Orochimaru; Orochimaru used Myriad Snake Formation to kill many pursuers.
  • Shin blocked Orochimaru’s escape, revealed his Mangekyō Sharingan, and massacred the pursuing ninja, including several Hōzuki clansmen with the Blast Sword.
  • Shin and Orochimaru recognized each other, and Shin removed his mask while taunting Orochimaru about his past failures.
  • Orochimaru asked to take Shin’s body and suddenly reached for his eyes.

Ch. 318Shin vs. Orochimaru

Shin fought Orochimaru and Manda, revealing that he controlled both ninja tools and liquids with his ocular jutsu. After Manda died and Orochimaru was pinned down, Orochimaru pierced Shin with the Kusanagi Sword and transformed into a White Phosphorus Snake to take him away.

  • Orochimaru tried to seize Shin’s Mangekyō Sharingan, but Shin severed his arm and attacked him with controlled ninja tools.
  • Orochimaru summoned Manda, who broke free of Shin’s genjutsu and fought him while explaining that Ryūchi Cave was under attack by Godzillas.
  • Manda swallowed Shin, but Shin controlled the gastric acid and toxins inside him, causing them to burst through Manda’s wounds and kill him.
  • Shin’s body was exposed, and Orochimaru realized he had transplanted many ordinary Sharingan to produce a pair of Mangekyō Sharingan.
  • Shin pinned Orochimaru with ninja tools and approached to cut off his head, but Orochimaru pierced his chest with the Kusanagi Sword and transformed into a White Phosphorus Snake.

Ch. 319In the Name of Madara Uchiha

Shin and Orochimaru nearly killed each other in Kirigakure, but Genji let them leave rather than risk the village while its rebellion continued. As Zabuza’s failed assassination attempt against the Fourth Mizukage neared its end, Obito appeared and offered him a place in Akatsuki.

  • Shin seized control of Orochimaru’s Kusanagi Sword, cut Orochimaru in half, and fought him to a standstill as Hidden Mist shinobi arrived.
  • Genji ordered Shin and Orochimaru to leave Kirigakure, and both retreated after failing to kill the other.
  • Shin collected the scattered ninja tools, including the Blunt Sword and Blast Sword, and warned the Hidden Mist shinobi not to challenge him.
  • Obito arrived after the battle and decided to pursue both the Eye Organization member and Kirigakure while keeping his plans for the Rinnegan and Ten-Tails to himself.
  • Zabuza continued fighting the Fourth Mizukage, recognized that he could not win, and began considering escape.
  • Obito emerged behind Yagura and offered Zabuza a place in Akatsuki under the identity of Madara Uchiha.

Ch. 320The Shinobi World's Trend of Stitching Together Bodies

Obito recruited Zabuza into the Akatsuki, then confronted Shin and discovered the Eye Organization’s goals remained unclear. Genitsu rescued Shin, revealed his knowledge of Ōtsutsuki, and brought Toneri’s soul forth as Obito grafted on Toneri’s arm and gained new power.

  • Obito recruited Zabuza Momochi into the Akatsuki and sent White Zetsu to take him to the leader.
  • Obito reflected on Toneri’s body and its apparent blood ties to the Hyuga and Uchiha Clans.
  • Obito intercepted Shin at sea, defeated his Mangekyō Sharingan, and learned that Shin did not know the Eye Organization’s purpose.
  • Genitsu appeared, severed Obito’s arm, and attached it to Shin, while revealing that he had monitored both Shin and Zabuza through his cells.
  • Obito grafted an arm from Toneri’s corpse onto himself and unleashed Wood Release, but Genitsu summoned Toneri’s soul, which recognized its stolen body.

Ch. 321Isshiki Takes Action

Genitsu defeated Obito’s assault, rejected his offer to join the Eye Organization, and drove him to escape using a stockpile of Sharingan. Obito then headed north after learning Orochimaru had fled, while a mysterious massive bear appeared before Grass ninja discussing a girl’s healing ability.

  • Genitsu used his Rinnegan to overwhelm Obito, suppressed Toneri’s soul, and revealed that the Sage of Six Paths and several ancient clans descended from the Ōtsutsuki.
  • Obito proposed joining the Eye Organization and explained his plans, but Genitsu rejected him and trapped him with Takamagahara.
  • Obito escaped by using Izanagi and repeated the technique with Sharingan taken from a scroll and held by Wood Release Clones.
  • Shin decided to improve Orochimaru’s cloning technology to clone Sharingan from his own eyes, and Genitsu took him away with Takamagahara.
  • White Zetsu told Obito that Zabuza Momochi had escaped and that Orochimaru was north of the Land of Fire, so Obito headed north.
  • In the Land of Grass, a massive bear appeared before Grass ninja who had been discussing using a woman’s daughter for healing.

Ch. 322A Head-On Collision with an Ōtsutsuki

Isshiki rampaged through Kusagakure in a bear’s body to seize Karin as a vessel, while Obito arrived seeking Orochimaru’s stolen ring and decided to take Karin for himself. The chapter ended as Isshiki grabbed Obito’s shoulder before he could reach her.

  • Isshiki killed Kusagakure ninja and headed for the village, seeking Karin as a vessel because of her Uzumaki and Ōtsutsuki blood.
  • Isshiki overwhelmed Kusagakure’s defenders, scattering Ryuuzetsu’s ghostfire as he moved toward the slums.
  • Obito and White Zetsu arrived in Kusagakure while searching for Orochimaru, the Demonic Statue portion, and the ring.
  • Obito spotted Isshiki carrying Karin and recognized her as an Uzumaki descendant like Nagato.
  • Obito emerged and reached for Karin, but Isshiki grabbed his shoulder and challenged him.

Ch. 323Void...

Obito fought Isshiki, the Ōtsutsuki inhabiting a giant bear, after Isshiki claimed Karin as his vessel. When Isshiki revealed that Genitsu had defeated him, Obito launched a vast Wood Release attack and ordered White Zetsu to summon Void.

  • Isshiki called Obito a mongrel and refused to hand Karin over, then attacked him with Karma-powered abilities.
  • Obito tried Kamui, fire ninjutsu, and genjutsu against Isshiki, but Isshiki absorbed his fire, broke the genjutsu, and pierced him with a Black Rod.
  • Obito called Tobi to merge with him, and Isshiki identified the Divine Tree cells in Tobi and revealed that he was Ōtsutsuki Isshiki.
  • Isshiki told Obito that Shiranui Genitsu had been his main opponent and had beaten him, shocking Obito, White Zetsu, and Tobi.
  • Obito unleashed Wood Release: Deep Forest Emergence, ordered White Zetsu to take Karin away, and told him to call Void.

Ch. 324A Single Kick Shatters Susanoo

Obito fought Ōtsutsuki Isshiki in Kusagakure, but Isshiki’s taijutsu shattered Susanoo and left Obito badly injured. White Zetsu found Genitsu in Konoha and reported the battle, prompting Genitsu to prepare to intervene.

  • Ryuuzetsu carried Karin away from Isshiki, while White Zetsu watched and sent word about the battle through the plant roots.
  • Obito restrained Isshiki with Wood Release and drained his Chakra, but Isshiki broke Susanoo’s hands and shattered its armored form with a kick.
  • Obito survived the kick with Tobi’s protection and attacked Isshiki again, despite Tobi warning that he could not win a taijutsu contest.
  • A White Zetsu clone reached Genitsu in Konoha and told him that Obito was fighting Isshiki over an Uzumaki descendant in Kusagakure.
  • Genitsu confirmed that he had fought Isshiki before and calmly prepared to go help Obito.

Ch. 325Susanoo-Clad Buddha

Genitsu sent Shisui to Kusagakure to control Karin with Kotoamatsukami while he joined Obito against Isshiki. Void summoned True Several Thousand Hands and told Obito to use Susanoo, leaving their combined attack against Isshiki imminent.

  • Genitsu secretly brought Shisui to meet Hitomi, who transported him to Kusagakure and assigned him to control the red-haired Uzumaki descendant.
  • Shisui infiltrated Kusagakure, identified Karin, and discovered that a bear was suppressing Madara in battle.
  • Void arrived to protect the badly injured Obito from Isshiki and summoned Senjutsu: Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands.
  • Void told Obito that the giant Buddha alone could not defeat Isshiki and ordered him to use Susanoo.

Ch. 326Nagato: They're All Useless

Obito and Tobi helped Void cover the Thousand-Armed Buddha Statue with Susanoo, and Void used the enhanced statue to devastate Kusagakure in an attack that Isshiki survived. As Void fought Isshiki with Sage Jutsu, Nagato awakened in Amegakure and prepared to act.

  • Shisui used his Mangekyō Sharingan to alter Karin’s thoughts and memories, then disappeared into the crowd.
  • Obito and Tobi covered the Thousand-Armed Buddha Statue with Susanoo, and Void unleashed Top Transformed Buddha against Isshiki, destroying much of Kusagakure.
  • Isshiki survived the barrage, attacked with black rods, and forced Obito to rely on Kamui as his eyesight deteriorated.
  • Void explained that Sage Jutsu could harm the Ōtsutsuki and burned Isshiki with a Sage Jutsu fire technique.
  • Nagato awakened in Amegakure after gaining deeper control over White Zetsu’s main body and declared that the world would welcome its god again.

Ch. 327We Are All Rice-Carriers (God)!

Nagato mastered White Zetsu's abilities and joined Void and Obito against Isshiki, whose power and knowledge of the Rinnegan challenged Nagato's claim to godhood. After Nagato's devastating attack, Isshiki placed Karma on Karin and escaped with her through a space-time technique as Nagato pursued them.

  • Nagato refused White Zetsu's offer to change his body and flew from Amegakure to Kusagakure to join Void, Obito, and Isshiki.
  • Isshiki recognized Nagato's Rinnegan and claimed he had inherited Ōtsutsuki blood, prompting Nagato to reject Isshiki's claim to godhood.
