Jezira City in East Africa held a position somewhat like the Yili River Valley region in the Far East Empire. It was one of the few habitable areas in the deserts of northern East Africa.
Its development model was largely the same as Egypt's and Sudan's. After all, everyone lived off the Nile River, which was the sole source of water replenishment for all three regions.
Of course, when Sudan still occupied Darfur, Darfur received at least some rainfall. But now that Darfur had fallen into East Africa's hands, rainfall in Sudan's other regions was nearly negligible.
As for southern Sudan, which had enjoyed a relatively suitable climate in the previous life, it had completely taken on East Africa's shape decades ago.
East Africa's strategy of dragging things out to resolve the Darfur issue was naturally the best approach at this stage. It avoided escalating conflict with Britain while allowing East Africa to occupy Darfur in fact.
As for the future, Britain would have no chance to sow discord between Darfur and East Africa. By then, Darfur's indigenous inhabitants would be gone.

"Company Commander Tarolin, all the villagers are here. Should the convoy set off?" Majin, the mayor of Will Town in Jinga City, asked an East African officer.
Tarolin said, "Have the people brought all their belongings? This is a complete relocation. If any supplies are left behind, we will not come back to move them later."
Mayor Majin
