While Besihofen and Michel were stuffing themselves at a street stall, a train departing from Port of Alexandria City Railway Station was making its way toward Lubango.

Traveling northeast along the Port of Alexandria Railway, the terrain gradually rose and vegetation began to thicken on both sides. After a journey of more than two hundred kilometers, upon entering Lubango, the border region between the two cities had seemingly transformed from a flat desert into towering mountains and deep valleys.

Port of Alexandria City was a flat desert city, while Lubango was a plateau city. A transitional mountain range stretched between them; west of it lay the Namib Desert, while the eastern side was the Willa Plateau.

Lubango, the capital of Letania Province, sat atop this plateau. It was also the fifth-largest city in western East Africa, surpassed only by Kinshasa, the capital of Congo Province.

The Port of Alexandria-Lubango Railway passed through the valleys of this mountain range, and the scenery on either side abruptly became precipitous and magnificent.

Many passengers passing through this region by train for the first time found it immensely novel and began talking among themselves.
