Clearly, industrial nations were better equipped to cope with risk than agricultural ones. Argentina was a rather special case among agricultural nations: it was an export-oriented agricultural country and was therefore even more vulnerable to the fallout of an economic crisis. Meanwhile, the Far East Empire did not even have a unified national government during the same period, yet its economy was actually holding up fairly well.

This gave the East African government an important insight: agriculture, too, required corrections at the national level to counterbalance the savagery and disorder of agricultural capital.

Hans Leighton said, "During an agricultural crisis, strengthening market intervention is an important measure for escaping the economic downturn. The Empire should also further strengthen supervision and restrictions on agricultural development during special times, avoiding ineffective investment and wasted resources."

Agriculture also required upfront investment, including seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural machinery maintenance, and so on. In the current economic climate, if agriculture were allowed to become completely marketized, East African agriculture would very likely fall into the same predicament as European and American agriculture. Not only would it fail to generate profits, it would instead incur considerable losses.

Crown Prince Friedrich said, "Therefore, we must further advance the Ecological Environmental Protection Act, thereby further reducing supply in the domestic agricultural market and maintaining the healthy development of agriculture."

1930 was an unusual year. By convention, the East African capital should have held a military parade, but this year's parade was canceled because of the economic crisis. Ernst instead personally went to inspect the troops.

Bender Town.

This coastal town lay in northeastern East Africa, along the Gulf of Aden coast. It was the northernmost integrated naval and air force base on the East African mainland, located where Bosaso, Somalia, had stood in Ernst's previous life.
