"It's Friday!" Obito eagerly answered.
"Tomorrow is Thursday, and Mu Yue-sensei probably wasn't asking what day of the week it is," Nohara Rin corrected him.
She did not think Mu Yue was the kind of person who could not even remember the day of the week and had to ask his students. Besides, asking about the day did not warrant calling all three of them over.
"Shadow Clones have been going to school lately, so I haven't really paid attention to the date. Turns out today is only Wednesday." Obito scratched his head with a chuckle as he explained.
"Could it be the day the barbecue place has discounts? Or the anniversary of becoming a teacher?" Obito continued guessing.
"Are you going to teach us some new super-powerful Forbidden Jutsu?" Might Guy guessed.
"Probably not. We haven't even mastered the Breathing Technique yet, and Shisui doesn't seem to be here," Obito noticed something amiss.
"Tomorrow is Shisui's birthday," Mu Yue said, no longer keeping them in suspense.
"I deliberately didn't call Shisui over today. We'll give him a surprise tomorrow," Mu Yue explained with a smile.
Being straightforward was certainly good, but Mu Yue felt that an unexpected surprise would yield greater rewards. An extreme emotional reaction might produce an unprecedented massive critical hit and drop a skill above the proficient level.
"So it's Shisui's birthday." Obito looked enlightened.
"It's tomorrow already? Why didn't he tell us beforehand?" Obito scratched his head in confusion.
He felt that even starting preparations tonight might be too late.
"Maybe he doesn't want to trouble anyone else," Nohara Rin said after thinking for a moment.
She had joined later and had not known Shisui as long as Might Guy and Obito had, but they had still known each other for around two months.
