"Captain Hanyu, has anyone ever told you that you're exceptionally good at concealing your presence?"

Kakashi turned around and found that Mu Yue had somehow sat down beside him without him noticing.

"Concealing oneself is a ninja's basic skill," Mu Yue answered with a smile.

"Captain Hanyu, you know, don't you? Konoha's White Fang didn't die in the line of duty. He committed suicide after being blamed by everyone for failing a mission," Kakashi asked.

As he asked this, Kakashi did not look at Mu Yue. He simply stared impassively at the river.

"Why do you admire a failed ninja like White Fang?" Kakashi turned to look into Mu Yue's eyes.

"If you call White Fang a failed ninja, then I can't agree," Mu Yue said, not answering Kakashi's question but rejecting his claim instead.

"Why wasn't he a failed ninja? As a ninja, he failed a mission that could have been completed because of his own personal reasons. If that isn't failure, what is? Do you understand White Fang better than I do?" Kakashi retorted.

Could Mu Yue, who had never exchanged a single word with his father, possibly understand his father better than he did?

"Perhaps I do. My view is the opposite of yours. I believe White Fang was a ninja who carried out his own Ninja Way," Mu Yue replied, shaking his head.

"What did he carry out? Isn't a ninja's rule that the mission comes first?" Kakashi felt that Mu Yue was simply talking nonsense.

"Since we're talking about ninja rules, do you know the origin of ninja?" Mu Yue asked with a smile.

Kakashi thought carefully for a moment, then shook his head.

"Then do you know the Sage of Six Paths?" Mu Yue continued.

"The god said to have created the ninja world?"
