Early in the morning, Kakashi woke up. This time, though, it was neither an alarm nor his biological clock and ingrained habits that had woken him, but a delicious smell.
Before opening his eyes, Kakashi was deeply puzzled about why there was such an enticing scent. Only after opening his eyes and seeing the unfamiliar ceiling did he remember that he had not gone home yesterday, but had stayed at Mu Yue-sensei's house.
Perhaps because he had slept well yesterday, Kakashi felt much lighter and more energized.
Kakashi then left his room and went downstairs.
"You're awake. I just finished making breakfast, so come eat with me." Mu Yue, who had just placed the prepared breakfast on the table, happened to see Kakashi coming downstairs and said with a smile.
"Thank you. Sorry to trouble you," Kakashi thanked Mu Yue.
Kakashi glanced at the dining table. Perhaps because he was there, Mu Yue had made extra food. The breakfast was lavish, with fragrant-looking Red Bean Rice, steaming Miso Soup, Tamagoyaki, and grilled fish.
"Thanks for the meal," Kakashi said as he sat down at the table.
He had not said those words before breakfast in a long time. After all, they were not meant to tell the food that he was about to eat it, but to tell the people eating with him that the meal was beginning. Naturally, there was no need to say it when eating alone.
The chaotic thoughts in Kakashi's mind vanished after he ate Mu Yue's breakfast. At that moment, he could only think that this was delicious, that was delicious, everything was delicious. His entire being was immersed in a world of food.
After clearing every dish in front of him and finishing the steaming Miso Soup, Kakashi felt warm and comfortable all over.
