"Strange, Minato-sensei was actually late today. Did he oversleep?" Obito asked suspiciously after rushing to the training ground at top speed, only to find Nohara Rin and Kakashi there.
"Do you think Minato-sensei is you?" Kakashi looked speechless as he watched Obito arrive right on the dot at the meeting time. He had nearly been late himself, yet he still had the nerve to complain about their teacher.
"As if you've never been late, Kakashi." Obito clenched his fist and shot back indignantly.
"I have been late before, but far less often than you." Kakashi answered calmly.
When he was in poor condition, he sometimes suffered from insomnia and a disrupted schedule, causing him to be late. But that happened about once in a blue moon, whereas Obito's lateness had reached the point where people simply thought, Well, it's Obito. That's normal.
"How dare you slander me out of thin air." Obito widened his eyes, then continued arguing, "What lateness? I was helping people. How can helping people be called being late?"
"Isn't being late simply failing to arrive at the agreed time?" Kakashi killed the debate with a single sentence.
"Alright, alright." Nohara Rin smiled helplessly and changed the subject. "Minato-sensei must have something important to do if he's late. And he's so fast—maybe he'll be here any moment now."
