Li Fan and the goddesses, including Wangshu, Taiyuan, and Ziguang, had long been standing before the palace gates. Seeing Xihe and Baili arrive surrounded by a myriad of followers, they immediately went forward to greet them.
Li Fan was the first to speak. "Congratulations to you both, fellow Daoists. You have finally attained the Saint Dao. From this day forth, you shall live as long as Heaven and Earth and walk alongside the Great Dao."
Before his words had faded, Nuwa stepped forward, lightly raised her delicate hand, linked arms with the two women, and smiled. "Congratulations."
Taiyuan also smiled and nodded.
Empress Ziguang smiled gently. "Yang Nine Yin Six—the six Earth Dao Saints have now emerged by more than half. The Primordial World Pattern will change from this day onward. Truly, this is cause for celebration."
Goddess Wangshu, however, was pondering a question. Of the Twelve Saints of the Human Dao, only four had appeared so far. Nuwa presided over the selection of Human Dao Saints—would she truly allow the Five Emperors of the human race to attain sainthood as they wished?
