Ch. 1527Caged Bird Seals Engraved on the Main Family

Neji Hyuga returned to the Hyuga Clan compound and offered to remove the Caged Bird Seal from Branch Family members who chose freedom. After the clan divided over his offer, Neji ordered the Main Family and its supporters, including their descendants, to receive the seal instead, leaving them protesting.

  • Neji Hyuga told the gathered Hyuga Clan that he had solved the Caged Bird Seal and created a new taijutsu system, and several Branch Family members revealed their unmarked foreheads.
  • Takashi Hyuga invited Branch Family members who wanted freedom to stand with Neji, and the Fifth Elder attacked them by trying to activate their seals.
  • Takashi broke the Fifth Elder's arm, and Branch Family members chose sides, with many joining Neji and others remaining with Hiashi Hyuga.
  • Hiashi Hyuga asked Neji not to harm their clansmen, but Neji ordered Takashi to seal the Main Family, its supporters, and their descendants.

Ch. 1528Election for Hokage

As the reformed Hyuga Clan settled into a new era, Neji Hyuga entered the Jonin vote to compete with Tsunade for Hokage. Kakashi Hatake worried that the election concealed Neji’s larger ambitions, while Might Guy decided to support him; the chapter ended with Tsunade confronting Neji.

  • The Hyuga Clan abolished the distinction between its main and branch houses, and branch members used the Caged Bird Seal against former main-house members.

Ch. 1530You Need to Give a Speech Before the Vote

At Konoha’s Hokage election, Hyuga Neji objected to an immediate vote and demanded that the candidates present their policies first. His challenge exposed how his candidacy could change who was allowed to compete for Hokage, while Shikaku Nara arranged a cautious show of support for Neji from the Akimichi Clan.

  • Koharu Utatane began the vote after Tsunade and Hyuga Neji arrived, but Neji objected and called for candidates to explain their policies before voting.
  • A Jonin agreed that Neji’s request was reasonable, as Konoha’s past Hokage selections had largely excluded open competition.
  • Shikaku Nara realized that Neji’s candidacy could break the traditional monopoly on the Hokage position, and Inoichi Yamanaka asked him what troubled him.
  • Shikaku Nara and the Ino-Shika-Cho Clans decided that Choza Akimichi would cast a vote for Neji as a precaution and a gesture of goodwill.

  • Koharu Utatane announced Tsunade as the Fifth Hokage, and the Jonin celebrated her victory.
  • Neji Hyuga unleashed crushing pressure, entered Sage Mode, and slammed his palms into the ground.
  • A Steel Colossus over a thousand meters tall rose behind Neji Hyuga and blocked out Konoha's sun.

Ch. 1534How Terrifying Was That?

Neji Hyuga revealed a Steel Colossus towering over Konoha, confirming that he possessed the power to pursue the Hokage position. Ch. 1536You Can't

Neji Hyuga used the Steel Colossus to overwhelm Konoha’s forces during his coup, defeating Tsunade’s attack and explaining that he intended to rule through fear rather than seek acknowledgment. As Might Guy confronted him over his betrayal, Neji said that the ruthless person before him was his real self.

  • Katsuyu’s Tongue Tooth Sticky Acid only left temporary marks on the Steel Colossus, which then transformed the plaza floor into steel and raised spikes that scattered Konoha’s forces.
  • Tsunade and Jiraiya attacked Neji Hyuga while Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado launched a combined assault, but Neji’s steel defenses disrupted their attacks and sent Kakashi Hatake flying.

Ch. 1542Your Heart Is Too Narrow

Neji Hyuga argued that his plan to unify the Shinobi World could end the cycle of war and extend the age when children were sent to battle, while Jiraiya feared it would bring greater conflict. Neji ordered Jiraiya to recruit Orochimaru and make the Sand Village surrender or be destroyed.

  • Neji Hyuga challenged Jiraiya’s claim that Hashirama Senju had brought peace, arguing that Konoha’s system had only raised the age at which children went to war.
  • Neji Hyuga said he would unify the Shinobi World before the Fourth Shinobi World War and keep children from fighting until adulthood, but Jiraiya accused him of seeking conquest.
  • Jiraiya warned that Neji Hyuga’s order for Danzo Shimura to kill the Land of Wind’s Daimyo and nobles would trigger a wider war.

  • He-El reassured Kaguya that the Otsutsuki Clan was no match for New Krypton, while the Great Slug Sage happily climbed onto his hand.

Ch. 1547Planting the World Tree

He-El brought the Great Slug Sage back from the Naruto universe and explained how her Nature Energy system differed from the Otsutsuki Clan’s Chakra. He decided to test planting a World Tree in the Naruto universe and suggested that Otsutsuki Kaguya could later use one to destroy her clan, leaving her alarmed and distrustful.

  • He-El recalled that Neji Hyuga had brought the willing Great Slug Sage from the Naruto universe to the He-El Universe.
  • He-El compared the Otsutsuki Clan’s Chakra system with the Great Slug Sage’s Nature Energy and predicted that Nature Energy could lead to a new Otsutsuki supreme god.
  • Otsutsuki Kaguya asked He-El what he wanted her to do, and he told her to study New Krypton’s history and future.
  • He-El decided to begin testing World Tree planting in the Naruto universe because he had gained inspiration there.
  • He-El explained that World Trees would help universes grow instead of consuming their life, then suggested Otsutsuki Kaguya could plant one in her universe and destroy her clan.
  • Otsutsuki Kaguya doubted she could defeat the Otsutsuki Clan and grew more uneasy about He-El’s plan.

Ch. 1548Three Reports

He-El received reports on Zero’s and Ciri’s campaigns in the Transformers and Pacific Rim universes, then learned that the Transformers universe was drawing the attention of other multiverses. He ordered Zero to retreat if necessary and brought Kaguya and the Great Slug Sage to the Pacific Rim universe.

  • Lucy reported that Zero had occupied the Transformers universe’s Solar System and begun building armories, researching its underlying logic, and exploring beyond the system.
  • Lucy reported that Ciri had turned the Pacific Rim universe’s Solar System into a Life Creation Chamber, while Doctor Manhattan helped her create a logic-detecting organism and rescue Dawn.
  • The Great Slug Sage urged Kaguya to overcome her fear of the Otsutsuki Clan and recognize that He-El’s power and plans offered her a chance to break free of her past.

  • He-El warned Zero to return rather than force a fight if trouble arose in the Transformers multiverse.
  • He-El brought Ōtsutsuki Kaguya and the Great Slug Sage to Pacific Rim and asked Ciri to study their genes, teach them New Krypton's rules, and train them for future missions.
  • He-El asked Doctor Manhattan and Dawn to help research a universal instrument for detecting the underlying operational logic of universes.
  • He-El proposed creating a World Tree that would support each universe's growth and gather its underlying operational logic without directly inspecting it.
  • He-El ordered Doctor Manhattan and Dawn to focus on physical and spiritual energy, using Ōtsutsuki Kaguya's constitution as a reference, then went to the DC Universe as its third Parallel Universe fusion began.

Ch. 1550Crisis of Merging Parallel Universes

He-El learned that more than eighteen parallel universes were merging into the New Krypton Universe and ordered New Krypton to prepare its defenses. He dismissed the commanders and turned to Clark Kent.

  • Clark Kent vowed to protect Earth, then flew down to prepare for battle after telling He-El, “Don’t die!”
  • He-El went to the Seven Lantern Corps’ base satellite, where Scarface greeted him and led him to the Miracle Wish Machine.
  • Scarface explained that the merged machine remained usable but was incomplete, and that nobody knew what price its wishes would demand.
