Arc 69Founding New Krypton
He-El established the New Krypton Empire in Australia, securing United Nations recognition through Kara’s diplomacy and promises of technology and medical care. The Justice League and Green Lanterns failed to stop him, while The Flash became the Empire’s liaison to powered factions and New Krypton began rebuilding its territory.
- Kara helped He-El manage the evacuation of former Australia, then became New Krypton’s diplomat and worked to prevent conflict with Superman and Earth’s governments.
- More than twelve million people left former Australia while around eight million stayed, and the New Krypton Empire was founded and recognized by all 193 United Nations members.
- At the founding ceremony, Kara promised medical care, genetic enhancements, and technological cooperation, but Ganthet and the Justice League interrupted and challenged He-El.
- He-El defeated Ganthet, the Green Lanterns, and the assembled heroes, exploiting their weaknesses while Batman and Superman were badly injured.
- He-El made The Flash director of New Krypton’s bureau for superheroes, supervillains, and metahumans after agreeing not to kill the assembled heroes or harm humans at will.
- The Justice League faced public and political backlash, while Kara announced that New Krypton would provide free treatment to at least twelve thousand patients each year.
- He-El revoked citizenship from more than 340,000 protesters, and Zero dismantled the cities, moved residents into temporary housing, and issued Proton ID Cards.
- New Krypton’s residents studied, worked on construction, and pursued their own goals as He-El asked Zero whether the Monitors had made any unusual moves.
