He had never seen Lucifer, the King of Hell, before. He had only heard of Lucifer's appearance and legends.

Countless years ago, a group of beings established a peaceful nation in a dimension of Azarath. They extracted all the darkness and evil from their bodies and cast it into Hell. Part of that evil failed to enter Hell and drifted through the void, gradually forming a materialized shape. Then, a cult summoned this evil existence. It impregnated a woman, and nine months later, she gave birth to a child. That child was Trigon.

Not long after his birth, while still an infant, Trigon massacred every member of that cult, including his mother.

In less than a year, he conquered the entire planet.

At the age of six, Trigon destroyed that planet and began his journey to conquer the universe.

By the age of thirty, Trigon had already conquered millions of worlds.

After conquering countless worlds, Trigon's greed and evil became increasingly impossible to satisfy. Carrying the Battle Power of the worlds he had conquered, he entered Hell, carved out a tremendous reputation there, and claimed a territory of his own. Hell came to call him Trigon.

But by then, like the Olympian Gods, Trigon had reached a certain limit and found it difficult to improve further.
