"I only wanted him to stop bothering me. Maybe he'd awaken the Sharingan because of it. Whether it turns out to be a blessing or a curse, I've already shown him enough mercy."
Neji Hyuga was not joking around or mocking a child.
If Uchiha Bingwei could break free from the fear Neji Hyuga had instilled in him, his Yin Release power would at least greatly increase. Awakening a one-tomoe Sharingan would not be much of a problem either.
But not everyone possessed the talent of Itachi Uchiha, Shisui Uchiha, or Sasuke Uchiha.
Awakening the Sharingan still depended on one's individual talent.
As for Uchiha Bingwei's talent, it was utterly ordinary. Making him break free from his fear and awaken the Sharingan would not be easy.
Barring anything unexpected, his limit would be becoming a Chunin unable to awaken the Sharingan, or perhaps a Special Jonin with a one-tomoe Sharingan. That would be his ceiling.
If he could escape the psychological shadow Neji Hyuga had cast over him and take that great step forward, then while his future might not be limitless, he could at least reach Chunin level ahead of schedule. Even making a bid for Jonin would not be impossible.
Conversely, if he could not break free from the killing intent and pressure Neji Hyuga had released, if he lacked an unwavering will, then forget about awakening the Sharingan. In the end, he would probably only hover between Genin and Chunin.
Itachi Uchiha understood what Neji Hyuga meant, but anger still rose within him.
It was not anger on Uchiha Bingwei's behalf.
Rather, Hizashi Hyuga had given up his life, only for his son, Neji Hyuga, to turn out like this. It left Itachi Uchiha deeply unsettled.
Just like how Shisui Uchiha had given everything, even his life,
