"Ugh!" Nagato let out a muffled groan. A faint, burning pain throbbed in his head as he saw through Pain's eyes that Neji Hyuga was standing over Pain, crushing him beneath his foot.
The signals he sent received no response.
Neji Hyuga had destroyed and severed all of Pain's receivers.
"Nagato, what's wrong?" Seeing something was off with Nagato, Konan hurried over, her face tense as she supported his weakened body.
"Neji Hyuga isn't an ordinary person. Pain was defeated before he even had the chance to make a move." Nagato coughed twice, his face pale.
"What?!" Konan supported Nagato in shock, a vague sense of unease rising in her heart. It seemed they had made a mistake.
"Konan, protect me. I'll control the other five Paths of Pain and deal with Neji Hyuga." Nagato straightened himself, his Rinnegan widening slightly.
"Nagato, perhaps we made a mistake," Konan said uneasily.
Perhaps they should not have coveted Neji Hyuga's possessions.
After all, Neji Hyuga had paid to hire them. They simply did not believe his ideals could ever be realized, so they had decided to seize his things and force him into submission with power. Was that truly right?
What if Neji Hyuga really had the power to carry out his ideals?
Only then did Konan realize that she had underestimated Neji Hyuga.
"Yahiko is beneath his feet," Nagato said coldly, beginning to focus on controlling the other five Paths of Pain toward Neji Hyuga's location.
No matter how things ended, they had to reclaim Yahiko's corpse.
Konan fell silent.
The other five Paths of Pain—Hell Path, Human Path, Asura Path, Preta Path, and Animal Path—rushed toward Neji Hyuga.
