Ch. 1874Tao Bai Bai's Death

He-El confronted Tao Bai Bai and Crane Hermit at the Red Ribbon Army headquarters, where Tao Bai Bai challenged him. He-El killed Tao Bai Bai with a brutal flurry of punches, leaving Crane Hermit, Tien Shinhan, and Chiaotzu facing him.

Ch. 1878Colonel Yellow the Tiger

He-El defeated the Red Ribbon Army’s hired assassins, Tao Bai Bai and the Crane Hermit, and spared their disciples, Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu. After his companions woke, He-El questioned Colonel Yellow about the Red Ribbon Army’s leader, and the tiger revealed the location of the command room.

  • Chiaotzu carried the wounded Tien Shinhan away after He-El told him to investigate the crimes of Tao Bai Bai and the Crane Hermit.

Vice Commander Black learned that Commander Red wanted to use the Dragon Balls to grow taller, and his faith in the commander collapsed as he silently chose not to draw his gun.

  • Commander Red panicked after seeing He-El defeat the Crane Hermit and withstand Tien Shinhan's Tri-Beam, while Vice Commander Black proposed gathering the Dragon Balls to stop him.

Commander Red fled with the Six-Star Dragon Ball while trying to bribe He-El, but He-El, Yamcha, and Krillin cornered him. As Black turned against his commander, He-El demanded Dr. Gero's location, and Black asked what He-El planned to do with the Red Ribbon Army.

  • Commander Red grabbed a golden pistol and the Six-Star Dragon Ball, then ordered Black to delay He-El while he escaped.
  • Black questioned Commander Red's wish and, after hearing that he wanted to grow taller before dealing with He-El, prepared to shoot him.

After killing Red, Black explained that pursuing great things mattered more to him than simply surviving, and offered to reveal Dr. Gero’s laboratory location.

  • Black asked He-El what he planned to do with the Red Ribbon Army and explained his devotion to its goal of conquering the world.
  • Black shot Commander Red in the thigh and confronted him over abandoning the army and using the Dragon Balls to become taller.
