Background

Qi Lin was a policewoman before her Super Gene status became known. During the Taotie Vanguard attack, a laser pierced her chest and left her incapacitated; Xiao Xuanyu reached her, held her while she briefly regained consciousness, and remained with her until she fainted 3.

Lian Feng later identified Qi Lin as a Divine River-generation Super Gene carrier. Qi Lin accepted recruitment into the Super God Academy after Xiao Xuanyu assured her that she should follow her own wishes 5. Xiao Xuanyu's Dark Energy accelerated her recovery from an injury that otherwise would have taken three days to heal 5 6.

Her original Divine River First Generation Sniper gene had a fixed First Generation limit and a lifespan of only slightly more than a thousand years. Concerned that she would eventually be separated from the much longer-lived Xiao Xuanyu, Qi Lin continued training rather than allowing herself to become a burden 15 23 163 205.

Xiao Xuanyu ultimately replaced her original gene with Hua Xia's Light, a Third Generation Super Gene created to extend her future and give her the power to fight beside him 292 294 295.

Personality

Qi Lin is diligent, protective, and unwilling to fall behind Xiao Xuanyu. Even after being told that her gene would be upgraded, she returned to target practice because she did not want to hold him back 163. Her determination also shows in combat: she actively sought stronger opponents to test herself after discovering how far her new body exceeded First Generation demons 315 325.

She is playful and proud around Xiao Xuanyu, but also emotionally open with him when afraid for his safety or distressed by their separation 6 152 190. Qi Lin can be jealous and possessive when other women show interest in him, though she generally listens to his explanations and later accepts Lingxi into their household 209 223 251 261.
