"You'll be treated like a problem student," Iroha said.
"I know all about that!" her father said. "That's how your mother won me over back in the day."
"Huh?"
Iroha Isshiki felt as if she had just heard something incredible.
"That's why it's honestly great that you don't understand, Iroha," her father said, seeming rather pleased about it as a parent. "Your Brother's move really is clever."
"Ms. Hiratsuka is a guidance counselor, right? So she counsels a lot of students. And since they're all students, plus they don't normally see her, how are they supposed to get close to her?"
"That's why the first step is to become one of her problem students!"
Her father spoke with the voice of experience. "Then, after going back and forth a few times, you naturally get familiar with each other."
"And if you get confessed to at that point, it's really hard to turn them down."
By the end, her father seemed to have exposed himself again.
It looked as though he, too, had been thoroughly conquered by Isshiki's Mother in the past.
"..." Iroha said.
Iroha felt like she could not understand any of this at all.
So, deciding communication was impossible, she went straight off to look for a hair dryer.
Meanwhile, Houtarou Oreki chatted a little more with her father and gained some experience from him.
And later on.
After Isshiki's Mother returned from going out to buy daily necessities, they explained the situation to her all over again. Then Isshiki's Mother also chose to help Houtarou.
It could be said that because these parents themselves had started out as a teacher and student, they did not try to stop Houtarou at all.
Not to mention that Houtarou also had a future path with nothing to worry about.
