Using every method at their disposal, they sabotaged their operations while also alerting the Clan Warriors just beyond the walls to these people's presence.
Either they hurled a blazing boulder toward the temple, just as they had at the Rubble Rock Family.
Or Ice Storm condensed icy mist and summoned a cold wind, raining a hailstorm down over the hooded cloaked figures' heads with a crash, bang, clatter.
Or they ambushed Clan Warriors in the shadows, luring them near the temples and making them run headlong into the hooded cloaked figures.
With the two of them threading the needle, elite squads of hooded cloaked figures and furious Clan Warriors kept meeting without warning, erupting into brutal hand-to-hand combat in an instant.
The rebel army of muddled ratfolk slaves, however, gained a chance to catch their breath and calm down. Guided by voices that seemed to come from nowhere deep within the crowd, they headed toward the northern escape route.
Meng Chao watched groups of rebels, including women and children, stop charging like headless flies injected with stimulants into the bronze walls of Clan Warriors bristling with spikes and blades.
Instead, they gradually evacuated underground through dozens of tunnel entrances scattered across Black Horn City, then followed sewage pipes built thousands of years ago all the way out of the city.
