"W-Was there just a war here?"
When the Transcendents from Dragon City's various factions finally reached the Golden Roc's explosion site, even battle-hardened iron-blooded veterans who had survived a hundred battles were profoundly shaken by the unbelievable sight before them.
Ahead of them, the smoke and shockwaves unleashed by the violent explosion had been gathered and congealed by an invisible force, like multicolored frozen waves, radiating outward in layer upon layer.
The hundred-plus Armored Airships that made up the Golden Roc had either been blasted to pieces or torn apart. Their air sacs had deflated, like loose skins flayed alive from flesh, sprawled limply across the ground.
The entire earth looked as though it had just endured a full day and night of carpet bombing.

Thick smoke still billowed from the depths of the craters, like grotesquely twisted plants forming a bizarre forest.
A great amount of wreckage had scattered across the ground, its original shape burned away by the high heat, leaving behind heaps of scrap metal resembling cow dung.
Looking closely, however, they could still see dozens of blood-soaked figures, their skin split and flesh torn, "embedded" among the scraps.
Their flesh had melted together with the scorching scrap metal. Though the bleeding had temporarily stopped, they could not break free from the crisscrossing prison of wreckage.
"Who could be so vicious and merciless?"
The Transcendents' eyelids twitched as rage surged through them.
They could not understand who had done this, or why someone would use such cruel methods in broad daylight to torture the Golden Roc's crew.
What surprised
