Chapter Summaries

Itachi learned that Sasuke had only recently awakened his Two-Tomoe Sharingan, while Kushina welcomed the other-world Naruto and Sakumo comforted the other-world Kakashi. The three pairs headed home together, leaving Naruto torn between longing for family and loyalty to his own world.

• Sasuke told Itachi that he had awakened the Two-Tomoe Sharingan only a few days earlier, and Itachi concealed his shock while asking him to keep the other world's clan massacre secret.

Chiyo arrived in the Empire’s modern Konoha and reunited with her grandson Sasori, who invited her to return with him to the Wind Province and meet his parents. While changing into fresh clothes in a university restroom, Chiyo marveled at its unfamiliar facilities and considered washing herself.

Chiyo discovered that the toilet she had mistaken for a clean basin had been used by Sakura, fainted from humiliation, and woke to Sasori explaining life in the Empire. After learning ordinary people could power cars with stored Chakra, she asked how Chakra Charging Stations collected it.

• Chiyo accidentally used Sasori’s puppet arm as a clothes rack while changing, startling Sakura in the restroom.

• Sasori explained how Chakra Beasts were bred and said his Red Sand Automations had about two thousand of them.
• Chiyo imagined using the Chakra Beasts to help the Hidden Sand Village conquer the Empire and concluded that Emperor Uchiha Senju was from the Hidden Leaf Village.

Confronted with the Empire’s power and prosperity, Chiyo felt her hopes for reviving the Hidden Sand Village falter as Sasori urged her to join the Empire.

• Sasori proudly showed Chiyo his giant plane and explained how it flew using engineering and aerodynamics as well as Chakra.
• Sasori flew Chiyo through Rain Province, where she was astonished by its clear skies and greenery.
• Chiyo saw that the Emperor had split the mountain range to open Rain Province to outside airflow and diverted its largest river into Wind Province.
• Chiyo realized the Emperor’s actions had transformed both provinces and doubted that her million-strong puppet army could challenge him.
• Sasori urged Chiyo to join the Empire and use her Puppet Technique for the benefit of its people.

Chiyo learned that Sasori's organization had hundreds of thousands of puppet masters and wavered over whether to help him, though she still resisted joining the Empire. In Konoha, Hiruzen Sarutobi urged Jiraiya to become temporary Hokage as the village faced a growing threat, but Jiraiya doubted his worthiness.

• Chiyo questioned Sasori about his Red Sand organization and learned it had over eight hundred thousand puppet masters, with plans to train millions more.
• Sasori pleaded with Chiyo to help him, and she agreed to help while insisting she could not betray her village and Daimyo.
• Hiruzen Sarutobi told Jiraiya that Danzo and Tenzō had gone missing after confronting ninjas from a parallel universe and warned that Konoha could be destroyed.

Sasuke returned with Itachi to an Uchiha settlement and was overwhelmed by seeing his clan and family alive in this world. He reunited with Mikoto and Shisui over a home-cooked meal, while Mikoto asked him to tell them about his world.

• Itachi brought Sasuke to the Uchiha settlement, where the clansmen welcomed them and Sasuke broke down in tears.
• Itachi comforted Sasuke and changed his shoes before taking him to the manor.

Mikoto welcomed Sasuke as her son, and after Fugaku returned, Itachi noticed that the two worlds shared the same date and urged Sasuke to investigate what Fugaku had brought home.

• Mikoto asked Sasuke about his parents, and he remembered his mother's care and his late understanding of his father's love.
• Sasuke told Itachi, Mikoto, and Shisui that Itachi had killed Fugaku and the entire Uchiha Clan, sparing Sasuke because of his eyes.

Sasuke received a warm birthday celebration from Itachi, Uchiha Mikoto, and their family in the Empire, bringing him to tears as he ate the noodles they made. In World 64, Naruto gave Sasuke a Flying Thunder God kunai for his birthday, but the group was refused service at a Konoha barbecue restaurant because of their reputations.

• Itachi presented Sasuke with a birthday cake, and Uchiha Mikoto explained that the celebration was for his birthday and his welcome into the family.
• Sasuke blew out the candles, ate the noodles Itachi made, and cried as Uchiha Mikoto reassured him that she would cook for him whenever he wanted.

Fugaku ordered Itachi to bring the other world's Sasuke back alive so he could learn why that version of Itachi slaughtered his clan. Meanwhile, Naruto visited Minato and Kushina's home, where their warm, attentive care stirred his longing for family.

• Fugaku told Itachi to make sure Sasuke did not kill his other-world counterpart and said he would send Itachi and Shisui with the Uchiha's Third Great Division.

Naruto told Kushina and Minato about his lonely childhood and revealed that the village shunned him because the Nine-Tails was sealed inside him. Furious that their son had been made a Jinchuriki, Kushina and Minato vowed to hunt down the person responsible, while Naruto began to explain who it was.

• Naruto described how his parents died, how he spent the relief money on prank paint, and how people refused to sell him food.
• Kushina questioned what happened to Naruto's inheritance, and Minato pointed out that Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze should have earned substantial mission rewards.
• Naruto admitted that villagers called him the Demon Fox's descendant and treated him as a source of disaster.

• Kushina angrily confronted Minato over sealing the Nine-Tails inside Naruto, and Naruto explained the truth about his past to them.

• Chiyo surveyed the impoverished Hidden Sand Village and felt ashamed of having blamed the Emperor and defended the Shinobi Village System.
• Chiyo remembered a hungry family and compared their hardship with the food and protections she had experienced in the Empire’s prison.
• Chiyo visited the prosperous Hidden Sand City in the Empire and decided that livelihoods and the environment mattered more than the Will of the Sand.
• Chiyo told Sasori she wanted to join the Empire Vanguard, return to the Hidden Sand, and devote her life to persuading its people to join the Empire.

Sasuke and Naruto dealt with hostility from Konoha shopkeepers before learning about their counterparts and continuing their mission to find people in the village. As Jiraiya struggled with the Hokage’s duties, Kakashi encountered Guy while watching Rock Lee and Neji train.

• Sasuke kicked apart a restaurant’s main beam and crushed the shop owner’s fingers after the owner tried to strike him, while Naruto failed to calm him down.
• Sasuke, Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi went to Ichiraku Ramen, where Kakashi explained that the people in this world were alternate versions of themselves.
• Jiraiya heard that a restaurant owner had been attacked by a Hidden Leaf shinobi and told the Anbu to handle the matter according to regulations, though he stressed that the village needed its shinobi.
• Naruto reported finding Ino’s counterpart in the Yamanaka Clan, while Sasuke said he had found Shino and Shikamaru’s counterparts and Kakashi reported finding Rock Lee and Neji’s.
