Single Chapter: Asking for Votes + Reporting Results

Three chapters are up!

Asking for your guaranteed monthly votes for August!

I updated over 260,000 words in July. Everyone might feel like they finish reading soon after each update, but that is because every chapter has been repeatedly polished and revised, making them quick to read. You can check the word counts in the table of contents—none of the chapters are short.

This book is quite difficult to create, and the creative process is relatively cumbersome, so it really is hard to add extra chapters.

For each chapter, if the writing goes smoothly, drafting takes two hours and revising takes another two hours. Then I have to seek feedback from reviewers—usually my wife or several longtime readers. Every day requires at least eight hours of highly focused work. Whenever I delete material, or the review group feels the effect is not good enough, extensive revisions are needed, and the workload rises sharply.

For example, with Ye Zi's two chapters, I deleted nearly ten thousand words. Just for her reaction when she looked at Kong Meilian's corpse, I deliberated over, polished, and replaced it with more than a dozen different approaches.

Characters like Wei Na, Lan Yuzai, Ye Zi, and Zheng Shiduo are all newly developed multifaceted character concepts, completely different from the kind of "labeling" character creation I used when writing Immortal Father and the Human Immortal.

It feels very fresh to me, and I have been having a lot of fun writing it.

If this book can achieve success in terms of results later on, it will be tremendously meaningful to my writing career.

Let me briefly report on the current results!
