The hall wrapped in a membrane of light, the wreckage scattered throughout its interior, the terrifying Blade Beast by the stone pillar spreading its Thin Wings...

Wang Jixuan raised a hand and pressed it onto Number Five's arm.

Number Five did not understand why.

Though this was only her thought-form, the sensation was still extremely real.

Suddenly touched by Wang Jixuan, she instinctively wanted to dodge, then restrained that reflex.

"What?"

Wang Jixuan did not answer. His spiritual sense fixed on the gray shadow beside a stone pillar at the edge. He did not turn to look, merely gathered this strange soul's soul power at a frantic pace.

Sensing something strange about Wang Jixuan, Number Five slightly turned her head and looked around.

Behind the stone pillars was nothing but empty space.

She saw nothing unusual.

Ahead, the black-haired priestess had reached the entrance to the hall. She raised her hand and lightly touched it, only to be gently pushed away by an invisible wall of light.

She spoke to herself as she looked at the scattered bones. Fear first filled her eyes, but that fear gradually changed in flavor as she kept murmuring:

"This was cruel to us.

"Believing in gods was an idea instilled in us since childhood. Serving gods was our duty. Witnessing a god being killed by a monster was an immense sorrow to me.

"But I did not dare step forward to protect the god. I only watched as the god died here."

The black-haired priestess's voice trembled.

She seemed to be squeezing her chest with all her strength, wanting to let out a mournful cry. In the end, though, she merely coughed twice, and her body seemed to grow weaker.

The black-haired priestess turned toward them.
