Beep, beep—
Several instruments played a melody called oppression in the dim prison cell.
In the corner of the cell, a young woman who no longer looked like a girl, but rather twenty-three or twenty-four, was curled up in an Alloy Seat.
Her long hair hung loose, and between the strands was a pair of bewildered eyes.
Bewildered and hollow.
The prison cell's walls were all one-way glass. Several Mechs carried Laser Cannons, their sights trained on the young woman's forehead and heart.
In the lounge behind the glass wall on the left, Shen Qionglin rubbed her forehead tiredly.
San Jie Lang Lang Zi, restored to his spirit form, was quite leisurely. He drifted out from the corner like a kind old man who handed out candy to children on special holidays.
He asked with a chuckle, "Any results?"
"No. She's resisting that cluster of memories. She was probably traumatized."
Shen Qionglin yawned.
"I tried out the machines left behind by the Ina Civilization myself just now.
"They're powerful, and they're technology Earth Civilization currently lacks. If we can take these machines out, we might be able to solve depression and all sorts of psychological illnesses related to space travel.
"Can you give them to us later?"
"Of course," Lang Lang Zi said. He loved being generous with other people's possessions. "The Ina Civilization was once exceptionally advanced in machinery too. Without the reserves here, Peony could never have developed so quickly."
The mechanical guard beside them spoke up. "The reason I developed so quickly is because I can conduct self-deductions through computational simulations without worrying about my self-awareness collapsing. My consciousness anchor is indestructible."
"Oh," Lang Lang Zi deliberately dropped his voice into a deep bass, "that anchor is love, right? Your love for your boss."
