Ch. 21Fire Mage

Li Wen and the players entered Amber City, where a bloodied Fire Mage ambushed them in the fog. After the mage killed one player and overwhelmed the others, the group struggled to find a way past his magic shield.

  • Li Wen recognized Amber City from the Strategy Group's records and retreated into the tower as an unknown mist appeared.
  • The Fire Mage killed a level-two Guard by setting him ablaze, then emerged from the fog and accused the players of being mercenaries transporting contraband.
  • Take tried to organize the remaining players into a defensive fight while the hunter prepared to attack from range.
  • The Fire Mage exploded the Guard's corpse and sent fire serpents after a charging warrior.
  • The hunter's arrow turned to ash against the Fire Mage's Magic Shield, leaving the players unsure how to hurt him.

Ch. 22Fierce Battle

Take and her companions fought the Fire Mage, who used powerful spells to overwhelm them. After the mage killed or incapacitated the others and injured Take, an unseen opponent confronted him in the mist and tried to stall him while he recovered his magic.

  • Take realized the Fire Mage’s Magic Shield only appeared when he stopped casting, and she dodged his teleporting fire attack.
  • The hidden caster cursed the Fire Mage and interrupted his spell, but the mage dispelled the curse with a ring and killed the archer with green magic.
  • The Fire Mage used a Charm Light scroll to make Flail Player jump from the bridge, while Take resisted the spell and shot the mage with a crossbow bolt.
  • The Fire Mage engulfed Take in flames, then hid the stone bridge in White Mist and attacked the tower, but failed to hit its hidden occupant.
  • An unseen voice estimated the Fire Mage’s remaining magic and claimed to be a student of Professor Siswell, then offered to end the fight peacefully.

Ch. 23Scorching Orb

Take discovered that the dungeon building had vanished, leaving only its magic array, while Li Wen faced a Fire Mage on Amber City's Spire Bridge. The mage summoned third-tier Scorching Orb after drinking Moonlight Potion, and Li Wen had to decide how to resist with almost no mana left.

  • Take left the tent and learned from the Hunter-class player that the dungeon building had disappeared, leaving only the magic array.
  • Li Wen used a threat to make the Fire Mage dismiss White Mist, then cursed him as he launched a Fireball; she dodged its direct impact but fell to 44% life.
  • The Fire Mage endured Li Wen's curse and poison by drinking Moonlight Potion, which temporarily raised his spellcasting tier.
  • The Fire Mage used a scroll to summon third-tier Scorching Orb, while Li Wen considered using Blood of Candlelight to turn her life into mana.

Ch. 24Shelter of Refraction

Li Wen survived the Fire Mage’s Scorching Orb through Shelter of Refraction and questioned him about his arrival, the caravan attack, and its cargo. He revealed that the caravan had secretly been transporting Moonlight Potion to the Royal Capital.

  • The Fire Mage’s Scorching Orb engulfed the bridge, but Li Wen survived by using Shelter of Refraction and its Radiant Shadow Refraction trait.
  • The poisoned Fire Mage realized Li Wen was alive and begged her to spare him, offering information and service.
  • Li Wen asked how the Fire Mage had learned about Amber City and entered it, and he said he had arrived by accident during a failed spatial jump.
  • The Fire Mage recognized the connection between Amber City, the Twilight Lineage, and the City of Eternity, then pleaded for his life and offered secrets about Sunday Secret College and the Arcane Academy.
  • Li Wen questioned him about the caravan attack, and the Fire Mage revealed that its valuable goods had concealed a shipment of Moonlight Potion bound for the Royal Capital.

Ch. 25Death of the Fire Mage

Li Wen questioned the Fire Mage about the Moonlight Potion and learned he was a Sub-Elf who claimed to have fled the Arcane Academy after being accused of stealing a secret treasure. When he finally admitted the theft and offered to hand it over, he suddenly died before Li Wen could kill him, leaving her unsure what had caused his death.

  • Li Wen recognized the Moonlight Potion as a rare, banned potion made by the Moon Worshippers, and the Fire Mage explained that he had taken it from mercenaries he killed.
  • Li Wen asked why an Arcane Academy mage had come to the Black Dragon Territory, and the Fire Mage said he was a Sub-Elf who had faced prejudice at the Academy.
  • The Fire Mage claimed the Academy had falsely accused him of stealing a treasure and that he had escaped through a Teleportation Array, though Li Wen suspected he was hiding the truth.
  • Li Wen drew her Bone-Corroding Poison Sword, prompting the Fire Mage to admit he had stolen something from the Academy and offer it in exchange for his life.
  • The Fire Mage suddenly screamed and died before Li Wen attacked him, and she gained 200 experience but could not determine the cause of his death.

Ch. 26Eye of the Transcendent

Li Wen searched the dead Fire Mage and identified several magical items, including a Shattered Eye of the Transcendent, while finding a letter addressed to Miss Melina. After leaving the corpse behind, she crossed the stone bridge toward Amber City.

  • Li Wen found a staff, a magic ring, two spell scrolls, a key, a fractured gemstone, and other supplies among the Fire Mage's belongings.
  • Li Wen identified the ring as the Ring of Fiery Passion and decided to keep the useful spell scrolls while saving the staff and ring for someone else or for sale.
  • Li Wen recognized the fractured gemstone as a Shattered Eye of the Transcendent and wondered whether it was the secret treasure the Fire Mage had mentioned.
  • Li Wen found a letter addressed to Miss Melina at 21 Hackenlo Street and kept it as a possible clue.
  • Li Wen left the Fire Mage's body in Amber City and walked across the stone bridge toward the city.

Ch. 27Giant "Evening Bell"

Li Wen entered Amber City’s Inner City but was drawn into the forbidden bell tower, where Giant Evening Bell revealed that he had saved her and asked her to find someone in the Outer City. He promised help with reaching the temple as a reward, but warned that only Li Wen could complete his request.

  • Li Wen followed the road toward the Amber Temple and realized she had reached the forbidden bell tower instead.
  • Giant Evening Bell revealed that he had brought Li Wen to him and had let her survive, while admitting he had killed the Fire Mage.
  • Evening Bell explained that his oath to the Twilight Witch prevented him from coveting The Final Codex or the Twilight Lineage.
  • Evening Bell asked Li Wen to go through the spire’s other door into the Outer City and find someone who would come with her when told it was his request.
  • Li Wen demanded a reward, and Evening Bell offered help entering the temple while warning that the Daughter of Amber would kill her and that only she could find the person he sought.

Ch. 28Eternity and the End

Li Wen learned that Giant Bell had recognized her connection to Urd and agreed to help her obtain The Final Codex in exchange for rescuing someone. Giant Bell altered her Eye of the Transcendent to provide a stable route to Amber City, then revealed that the city was isolated from the Mortal World.

  • Li Wen realized that Giant Bell had sensed Urd's influence, but concluded that they had not uncovered the secret of Urd's Thorn.
  • Giant Bell explained that the Path of Fate had let them save Li Wen and bring forward the Fire Mage's death.
  • Li Wen asked for a promise in exchange for helping Giant Bell, who agreed only if she first brought someone out.
  • Giant Bell altered Li Wen's Eye of the Transcendent so she could teleport directly to Amber City by reciting City of Eternity.
  • Giant Bell warned Li Wen to avoid the temple and asked whether Twilight was the end of eternity or the eternity of the end.
  • Giant Bell told Li Wen that Amber City was a nation sealed off from the Mortal World, and directed her to the bell tower to return.

Ch. 29Spell-less Arc Light

Li Wen escaped the Fire Mage’s territory, learned Spell-less Arc Light, and planned to recover before returning to Ake Town. Meanwhile, Aiswell urgently arrived at High Prism Tower to speak with Heron.

  • Li Wen used the bell tower’s teleportation array to leave Amber City and reviewed her injuries, depleted Mana, and accumulated Experience.
  • Li Wen spent 200 Experience to learn Spell-less Arc Light, raising her class level to lv2 and her Mana total to 20.
  • Li Wen arrived in a karst cave outside Streamstone Rift, decided to return to Ake Town after daylight, and logged off.
  • Aiswell arrived at High Prism Tower and ordered a patrolling mage to inform Heron that he needed to speak with him urgently.

Ch. 30Keys and the Truth Society

Aiswell sought Heron’s help after learning that Osmund Burnell had died in a secluded independent world with the Upper Labyrinth key missing, but Heron refused to intervene. Heron introduced him to Li Lin, the Truth Society’s liaison, who said the Society had traced Osmund’s last spatial journey to the Black Dragon Territory.

  • Aiswell went to High Prism Tower and found Heron speaking with an ordinary young man.
  • Aiswell told Heron that Osmund Burnell had stolen the Upper Labyrinth key, died in an independent world, and might have been guided by a mastermind.
  • Aiswell suspected the Truth Society, but Heron refused to help him investigate.
  • Heron revealed that the young man was Li Lin, a liaison officer for the Truth Society.
  • Li Lin said the Society had tracked Osmund’s movements to the Black Dragon Territory, while Aiswell warned that he would not let the Society take the key.

Ch. 31The Fairy Market

Li Wen found that the forest was sealed around a fairy market and learned she needed an enchanted Magic Leaf to enter. After stealing one from Mr. Bird and using it to pass through a portal in an ancient oak, she reached the bustling fairy market and headed toward its center.

  • Li Wen restored her health, left the cave, and struggled through the dense forest in the wrong direction.
  • Mr. Bird told Li Wen that the forest was sealed and that she needed an enchanted Magic Leaf to attend the fairy market.
  • While Mr. Bird pondered a riddle, Li Wen stole a Magic Leaf and used it as proof of an invitation.
  • The Magic Leaf opened a passage in an ancient oak, and Li Wen followed several dwarf elves into a transformed fairy forest.
  • Li Wen arrived in the fairy market and walked toward the lively crowd at the heart of the woods.

Ch. 32Market Sights

Li Wen searched the market for someone who could brew Shadowfall Potion and learned that Granny Marsha might be able to help. Before she could pursue the lead, a young man in ornate armor exposed a Wild Mage’s sleight-of-hand scheme and offered to demonstrate magic himself.

  • Li Wen found a bottle of Lesser Ghost Solution at a gnome’s stall, but the gnome said he could not brew potions and suggested Granny Marsha might know how.
  • Li Wen learned that Granny Marsha was a Ghost Fairy who lived in a treehouse, then left the stall to look around the market.
  • Li Wen noticed a Wild Mage performing tricks while his companion secretly stole from spectators, but she chose not to intervene.
  • A young man in ornate armor accused the Wild Mage of casting Telekinetic Touch incorrectly and explained how the extra incantation and gestures changed it into Invisible Touch.
  • The Wild Mage denied the accusation as the crowd backed him, and the young man offered to perform a free magic trick of his own.

Ch. 33Firstborn of the Holy Temple and the Ghost Fairy

Li Wen recalled her past clash with Moriah Enoch, the Holy Temple’s Firstborn, and went to Ghost Fairy Marsha’s treehouse to request a Shadowfall Potion. Marsha agreed to brew it only if Li Wen killed the Paladin at her door, just as a blood-red blade cleaved through the doorway behind her.

  • Li Wen recognized Moriah Enoch and remembered how he had nearly killed her while pursuing her in a previous life.
  • Li Wen decided to avoid Moriah and went to the enormous oak treehouse where Ghost Fairy Marsha lived.
  • Li Wen entered the empty treehouse and spoke to Marsha through a mirror.
  • Marsha identified her cauldron’s contents as Soul Return Secret Medicine and said she could brew Shadowfall Potion.
  • Marsha demanded that Li Wen kill the Paladin at her door, and a blood-red sword cut through the doorway behind Li Wen.

Ch. 34Clues to the Potion

Li Wen learned that the Shadowfall Potion and its missing ingredient might be found in the underground ruins of an Alchemy Master's laboratory in the Black Forest. Moriah offered to accompany her there, leaving her unable to refuse without revealing her reasons.

  • Li Wen used a Prayer Incantation to convince Moriah she served Radiance, then explained that she needed the potion to save a cursed companion.
  • Granny Marsha said the potion was lost and its formula required the vanished Obscure Root, but Moriah threatened her with a Divine Art until she revealed a possible source.
  • Granny Marsha directed them to the underground ruins of the Black Forest, where an Alchemy Master's laboratory might hold the potion and its ingredients.
  • Li Wen connected the ruins to the Fey Market and decided to search there, but Moriah offered to accompany her because the ruins were dangerous.

Ch. 35Gnome Zotes

Li Wen agreed to explore an underground ruin in the Black Forest with Moria, who recruited two Wild Mages to guide them. After finding the gnome vendor Zotes, Moria paid him a Sun Crown to lead the group to the place where he had found his goods.

  • Li Wen accepted Moria's offer to accompany her to the dangerous ruin.
  • Moria found the two Wild Mages and insisted they join the journey before he took them to Leicester City.
  • Li Wen led the group back to the gnome vendor's stall and asked Zotes where he had found his goods, especially a potion.
  • Moria paid Zotes a Sun Crown, and Zotes agreed to guide them to the underground ruin.

Ch. 36Deep Within the Dungeon

Li Wen and her companions followed Zotes through a hidden entrance into a dungeon beneath the Black Forest ruins, where they encountered evidence of horrific torture. Zotes led them deeper toward the potion, leaving the group at a mysterious door.

  • Zotes uncovered a secret entrance that led directly to the lowest dungeon, and Moria lit their way with Divine Art.
  • Nasha and Halik whispered to Li Wen about escaping Moria, but Li Wen told them to stop following her and run if they wanted to escape.
  • The group emerged inside a dungeon filled with torture devices, bloodstains, and signs that prisoners of many sizes had been held there.
  • Zotes led them past dissection tables and sealed cells where screams sounded, warning them not to pay attention to whatever was inside.
  • Zotes reached a door in the darkness and pushed it open, leading the group toward the place where he had found the potion.

Ch. 37Living Quarters and Notes

Li Wen and the others entered a hidden room after Moria dispelled the effects of a magical trap, but its contents did not match Zotes’s description of an alchemy laboratory. Li Wen found a strange diary as Moria uncovered a secret passage, leaving the group poised to explore the mystery beneath the forest.

  • A flash trap incapacitated Zotes and blinded the others, but Moria’s Divine Art restored everyone and cleared their ailments.
  • Zotes blamed himself for opening the door, while Halik suggested a magic-triggered trap had gone off by accident.
  • Moria illuminated the room beyond the door, revealing a dusty bedroom and study instead of the laboratory Zotes remembered.
  • Li Wen found a black notebook marked with a claw gripping an eyeball and read its first sentence before Moria called her attention to a hidden passage.
  • Moria revealed that Zotes had knocked books from the shelf and uncovered the secret door, and Li Wen agreed to explore it.

Ch. 38Attack

Li Wen and her companions found the ruined alchemy laboratory and learned from an old journal that an Alchemy Master had come to the Black Dragon Territory seeking the legendary dragon. After a deranged, mutated attacker ambushed them, Li Wen killed it, while the cause of the laboratory’s destruction remained unknown.

  • Li Wen read the Alchemy Master's notes, which described finding the Black Dragon and conducting research after obtaining something from it.
  • The group emerged from the secret passage into a wrecked laboratory filled with corpses, shattered vessels, and signs of a recent attack.
  • Li Wen noticed that the claw marks resembled those in the dungeon prison cells, while Zotes insisted the place had not been like this before.
  • A scaled, tumor-covered attacker ambushed Li Wen, who dodged its strike and cut off one of its claws with her poisoned dagger.
  • Li Wen warned the others, then used Spell-less Arc Light to decapitate the attacker as Moria watched.

Ch. 39Tearing Off the Mask

Li Wen examined the monster and discovered a parasite controlling its body, then exposed Zotes's claim about finding the potion as a lie. Zotes tore off his own face, revealing that something was wrong with him.

  • Li Wen and Moria found no other monsters nearby, but Li Wen noted that the monster's clean claws meant it had not killed the adventurers.
  • Halik suggested leaving, but Zotes and Nasha refused, and Halik reluctantly decided to stay too.
  • Li Wen dissected the monster and found its organs replaced by black gelatinous matter and a worm lodged inside its skull.
  • Li Wen identified the worm as a parasite that had eaten the victim's brain and controlled its body, then confronted Zotes.
  • Li Wen explained that Ghost Solution could not survive for more than three months, disproving Zotes's claim that he had found it in the dungeon.
  • Zotes flew into a rage, tore at his skin, and ripped off his face.

Ch. 40Flesh-and-Blood Creation

Zotes transformed into a massive Blood Lust Cultist and attacked Li Wen and Moria, but Moria turned his Blood Curse back on him with the Path of Sacrifice Divine Art. Zotes survived by unleashing the Great Blood, revealing a monstrous creation beneath the dungeon as Li Wen and Moria faced a sea of blood and corpses.

  • Zotes tore away his skin, drank his blood, and transformed into a towering, scaled Blood Lust Cultist.
  • Zotes attacked Li Wen and Moria, then declared that the dead adventurers had come to the dungeon willingly.
  • Moria confronted Zotes and was pierced by his Blood Curse, which caused his wounds to bleed without end.
  • Moria used Shared Fate to inflict his wounds on Zotes, then healed himself with a candle flame and struck Zotes with its light.
  • Zotes escaped the attack by breaking open the ceiling, flooding the area with blood and corpses, and revealing the gigantic creation of the Great Blood.
