Those who worship the shadows will mix toad milk, demon nettles, snake incense... in a bottle using special techniques, and place the bottle in the shadows where it will not see the light of day on a moonless night. After thirty-three days, they will imprison the shadow of a demon within the potion and thereby glimpse the secrets of the shadows.

After a special ritual, it can be used as a potion for advancing on the Shadow Path. If the potion is drunk directly, the soul will forcibly fall into the realm of shadows.

Li Wen opened the seal of the bottle and drank the potion without hesitation.

The Shadowfall Potion was extremely cold upon entering her mouth. Its overall texture was similar to mint-flavored jelly, with a bitter taste and a slight aftertaste of sweetness.

After drinking the potion, Li Wen closed her eyes and began to recite the many secret scriptures and incantations of the Shadow Path.

She began to feel cold, an inexplicable chill spreading from all around her. The cold, hard ground beneath Li Wen's feet began to soften, and then, as if solid ice were melting into water, the ground turned into a viscous, cold liquid.

Li Wen's body sank into it and began to fall endlessly downward. Just then, Li Wen activated her extraordinary trait, Retrograde in Shadow. Her falling momentum stopped instantly. When she opened her eyes again, she was standing in her original position. In front of her was a church-like building.

It was tens of times larger than the Candle Sun Church in Ake Town. Its overall style was consistent with the other buildings in Amber City. A towering bronze gate blocked the way, preventing anyone from entering. A withered World Tree was carved on the gate, with amber twilight enveloping its crown, the symbol of the Twilight Lineage.

This massive church was the Amber Temple, the residence of the Twilight Witch in the mortal world.

It was said that after the Twilight Pillar collapsed, The Final Codex, containing all the secrets of the Twilight Lineage, was preserved within by the believers, isolated from the world until this day.

To open this bronze gate, one would need the fresh blood of three Elders and the approval of both the Amber City Council Hall and the Witch Disciplinary Center. This was something no one had been able to achieve, even in Li Wen's previous life.

The Strategy Group had also not opened this gate. They had entered the Amber Temple through another, more crude and barbaric method: attempting to blast the gate open directly with high-level magic. The result was that the gate remained intact, but the outer wall of the temple was blown down.

This action was not met with resistance from the Elders in the inner city. Instead, it attracted another, even more terrifying threat—the Daughters of Amber, who were in a deep slumber within the temple, were awakened by the actions of the Strategy Group members.

The vanguard team of the Strategy Group that explored Amber City that time did not survive.

Afterward, the Strategy Group entered the temple and, after obtaining the design blueprints of the Amber Temple, they roughly devised several different methods to enter the Amber Temple without the need for Elders.

One of these methods was to utilize the extraordinary trait "Retrograde in Shadow."

When a person possessing the Retrograde in Shadow trait drank the Shadowfall Potion, Retrograde in Shadow would temporarily transform into its higher-tier trait, "Shadow Walker," until the next time they were exposed to sunlight.

And Shadow Walker allowed one to truly transform into a shadow to act, enabling them to pass through any form of obstruction, portal, or wall, and reach any place a shadow could reach.

Including the bronze gate of the Amber Temple.

Li Wen recalled the various details from the strategy guide, took a deep breath, and activated her trait.

The world began to lose its color in her eyes. Whether it was the amber twilight or the dead black of the buildings, everything appeared gray and colorless to Li Wen.

Li Wen extended her palm, but could see nothing. Only the shadow on the ground maintained the same movement.

Is this what it feels like to become a shadow?

Li Wen felt no change in herself. She glanced at the massive bronze gate and tentatively walked forward.

Her shadow, as expected, passed through the bronze gate, and her seemingly non-existent body also entered the bronze gate, entering the Amber Temple.

The interior of the temple lacked excessive detail, with a long corridor leading directly to the inner hall.

Li Wen did not act rashly. She looked up and saw rows of women, sealed in giant pieces of amber, hanging upside down above the temple corridor.

These figures within the amber had no discernible faces, their bodies were unclothed, and strange root-like patterns were carved all over them.

These were the slumbering Daughters of Amber. They were present everywhere from the temple corridor to the inner hall. Once the amber shells containing them dissolved, it would signify their awakening, and they would kill all life that invaded the temple.

These Daughters of Amber were eternal creations, impossible to kill by any means, and capable of unleashing numerous Twilight Lineage abilities without limitation.

Even a powerful Stage Seven Archmage like Siswell would not be certain of victory if he faced a Daughter of Amber alone, let alone the fact that there were quite a few of them.

The best course of action was not to wake them. As long as Li Wen remained in her shadow form, there would likely be no problem.

With these thoughts, Li Wen moved silently towards the inner hall.

The Amber Temple was originally built as the residence of the Twilight Witch and a place of pilgrimage for Twilight believers, so it would not pose too much danger.

Thus, Li Wen easily passed through the corridor and arrived at the inner hall.

At the entrance to the inner hall stood a tall statue of a witch. Like the Daughters of Amber, the statue had no face and was covered entirely by a cloak, with its hands clasped in prayer.

Only the Twilight Witch herself could have a statue erected in the Amber Temple.

Looking at the statue, Li Wen felt a vague sense of unfamiliar familiarity.

This was strange. She should have seen this statue for the first time. Before this, even the intelligence from the Strategy Group in her previous life contained no information about this statue.

Perhaps it's just an ordinary idol, with only symbolic meaning? But that's impossible. The Strategy Group had records of every brick and stone in the Amber Temple, let alone a statue of the Twilight Witch, which would have immense symbolic and practical significance?
