The fierce battle in Chesapeake Bay continued. However, the fighting had become almost completely one-sided. Although the American fleet fought with great courage, driving their cruisers and destroyers swiftly toward the German fleet, under the German fleet's dense barrage, these small and medium warships simply could not get close, much less launch Torpedoes at those Capital Ships.

The 533mm Heavy Torpedo was certainly immensely powerful. If struck, even the German Navy's thick-skinned Capital Ships would suffer severe damage. Fortunately, the German Navy's defenses were formidable, making it impossible for the American fleet to get close, let alone launch attacks against the German fleet.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Naval Guns roared, explosions rose one after another, and smoke filled the air. The entire Chesapeake Bay was ablaze with battle.

Yet it was plain to see that the warships being sunk were usually those of the American fleet. Under the German fleet's assault, they had almost no power to fight back. The cruisers and destroyers, in particular, were sunk one after another.

"God! The Germans' defenses are too tight! We simply can't break through! At this rate, we'll be sunk before we even get within two thousand meters!" the captain of a destroyer said in Panic.

"Launch the Torpedoes at once! Then turn and withdraw!" the captain ordered.

"But, sir, we're more than four kilometers from the German fleet. If we launch the Torpedoes, there's basically no chance of hitting the enemy."

"If you don't want to die, launch the Torpedoes immediately!" the captain snarled.

"All right, sir."

The destroyer promptly launched six Heavy Torpedoes, then immediately turned and fled deeper into the bay. As for whether those Torpedoes could hit anything, that was no longer their concern.

When they knew they were outmatched, continuing to charge forward meant only one road: death.
