The place where Emperor Qin Tian of the Empire had invited the kings and presidents of several countries to dine was the small dining room of the Imperial Palace. It was not large, but it had been arranged with warmth and elegance. Although Qin Tian was the Emperor of the Empire and could be considered the wealthiest man in the country, he did not care for things that glittered with gold and radiated splendor. Instead, warm and elegant surroundings pleased him more.
The kings and presidents sat at the lower end of the long table. Qin Tian, naturally, sat in the seat of honor without yielding to anyone.
"Your Majesties, Your Excellencies, thank you for coming to the German Empire to attend this Berlin Conference. I also thank you for joining the Allied Powers and fighting for the interests of all Europe!" Qin Tian said, raising his glass.
"Your Majesty the Emperor, this is what we ought to do. Both Buru and the United States are brimming with ambition. If they win, it will be a disaster for all of us. Naturally, then, we hope that the German Empire can lead us to victory in the coming war. To that end, we will give our all!" King Vittorio Emanuele III said.
By now, he had completely cast aside his airs and dignity, treating himself as Germany's little brother. Before the last World War, however, the Kingdom of Italy had been one of the three giants of the Allied Powers, and the King of Italy had stood on equal footing with the German Emperor and the Emperor of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. But now, everything had long since changed.
"That is right, Your Majesty the Emperor. If Buru rules Europe, people like us will likely end up just like Nicholas II—executed outright.
