"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
At Sennah Port and Lahad Datu, the cannon fire thundered without end. This time, all the artillery of the German military's two Infantry Divisions had truly gone all out. Howitzers, field guns, infantry guns, and mortars of every caliber were firing. Vast stores of shells were hurled at the Island Nation's Army as though they cost nothing, inflicting grievous casualties upon them.
The Island Nation's Army had likely never seen fighting like this before. They were completely pinned down on the beaches, their losses mounting without cease, as if the German military intended to drown them beneath a sea of shells.
At the Division Headquarters of the German military's 225th Infantry Division, Major General Erik Hansen frowned. The fierce battle was still raging, and the roar of guns had never ceased, showing just how intense the fighting was. The Island Nation's Army had committed four Infantry Regiments at once, nearly fifteen thousand men, to the landing operation. Such a scale placed enormous pressure on the 225th Infantry Division as well.
The German military's 225th Infantry Division had three Infantry Regiments and one Artillery Regiment under its command. Together with the other units directly under Division Headquarters, it numbered more than eighteen thousand men. The German military had always been well equipped and heavily armed, giving it formidable combat strength. Yet in this battle, they still felt tremendous pressure.
"General, the Island Nation's men are too crazy. Though we've temporarily suppressed them, they simply aren't afraid of death when they fight. Reports from the front say Island Nation's men often charge straight into our concentrated firepower without fearing death. That kind of fighting spirit is truly terrifying. The two regiments on the front line are under immense pressure!" said Brigadier General Michael, the division's chief of staff.
