The Heavy Machine Gun atop an Armored Personnel Carrier sprayed wildly, mowing down soldiers of the Island Nation's Army one after another.
Not far from that Armored Personnel Carrier, a Panther tank was slowly advancing. Its Tank Cannon was aimed at a machine-gun position.
Boom! With a single cannon blast, the machine-gun position was blown sky-high.
The German 23rd Army Corps had assembled an Armored Division and two Mechanized Infantry Divisions for this attack, and their offensive was exceptionally fierce. Under the assault of these forces, the Island Nation's Army's 31st Division had no chance whatsoever of putting up even a brief resistance.
Crippled units fled in all directions. Even the ordinarily fierce soldiers of the Island Nation's Army lost their courage under this German assault. After all, they had never seen this kind of warfare before; they had not even imagined it.
The rear hatches of the half-track Armored Personnel Carriers opened, and fully armed German soldiers disembarked. With the support of the armored vehicles and tanks, they began mopping up the surrounded soldiers of the Island Nation's Army.
Major General Paul, commander of the 23rd Armored Division, had already issued his orders. He wanted the battle settled within two hours.
