Over the past few days, Southern Army Commander General Hitoshi Anami had been in fairly good spirits. The Netherlands East Indies Expeditionary Army had successfully landed on Borneo and officially begun its attack on the German military. Though the fighting might be somewhat difficult, General Hitoshi Anami believed this would be a good start. Once the Island Nation's Army landed on Borneo in an unbroken stream, the scales of victory would certainly tip in their favor.
Besides keeping an eye on the fighting in Borneo, General Hitoshi Anami was also urging the 14th Area Army to land on Borneo as quickly as possible. In addition, the Southern Army's 7th Area Army and 18th Area Army also had to hasten to the Philippine Islands. Once the Island Nation's Army had completely occupied Borneo, the next step would be to attack Indochina and Australia. Even more troops would be needed then.
"Once the 14th Area Army lands on Borneo, with the strength of the Netherlands East Indies Expeditionary Army and the 14th Area Army, defeating—or even annihilating—the German 23rd Army Corps should not be much of a problem. By then, only the German 11th Army Corps in Indochina, and the German 12th Army Corps and 24th Army Corps in Australia, will remain.
The 11th Army Corps is one of the German military's elite army corps. It is extremely powerful, and annihilating it will likely be very difficult. Our casualties will not be minor either.
