A carrier-based FW-190 fighter took off from the aircraft carrier Poseidon, flagship of the German Home Fleet. Carrier-based aircraft were likewise taking off from the fleet's other seven aircraft carriers.

In total, there were 144 carrier-based FW-190 fighters, 144 Dive Bombers, and 120 Torpedo Bombers.
