August 9, Königsberg, East Prussia.
Oscar had been here for several days already, and the entire German Empire's 8th Army Corps had completed its mobilization. Ten Infantry Divisions and one Armored Division were all at full strength. Their total force exceeded 180,000 men.
The current 8th Army Corps could truly be called strong in soldiers and horses. Not only had the troops' firepower been reinforced, they were practically armed to the teeth. They had also formed the world's first Armored Division. Sometimes, Oscar wondered whether this was bullying the Russians a little too much. After all, aside from their numerical advantage, the Russians held no advantage whatsoever. Especially in terms of weapons and equipment, the two sides were as far apart as heaven and earth.
The Russian government had not expected the war to break out so quickly, so they had made no preparations at all. Their mobilization efficiency was consequently low, and they could not even guarantee weapons for their troops. Many Russian soldiers had no choice but to share a single rifle. Only after a comrade died could they pick up the rifle and continue fighting.
This was undoubtedly extremely unfair to the Russian soldiers. Because of the government's inaction, they could only face a powerful enemy empty-handed. How was fighting like this any different from sending them to their deaths?
Of course, from the German Empire's standpoint, Oscar naturally wished for the Russian army to be as weak as possible. Only then could the German Empire defeat Russia at the smallest cost and secure victory in the war.
