Director Liu had barely left when there was another knock on the lounge door. Then, the academicians from the Institute of Mathematics and the Physics Research Institute walked in.
Academician Xi Lan and Academician Pang Cheng entered one after the other. Pang Cheng then quickened his pace, swiftly walked up to Xiao Yi, shook his hand, and said with a smile, "Xiao Yi, congratulations on graduating. I gave your defense a perfect score just now."
Xiao Yi smiled and nodded. "Thank you, Academician Pang."
Xi Lan, who was behind them, immediately frowned and shoved Pang Cheng aside. "I have no idea why someone studying physics came over here to join the fun. This is clearly a mathematics matter."
"It's just a perfect score. You make it sound like none of us gave him one."
"Xiao Yi, congratulations on graduating. You'll have to return to your school to collect your degree certificate, though. Old Hu, once you get back, make sure you handle it for Xiao Yi as soon as possible."
As he spoke, he turned to urge Hu Guangde beside him.
"Do you need to remind me about something like that?" Hu Guangde waved his hand. "The school is already handling it. You don't need to worry, and that includes his master's degree."
Xi Lan said, "Of course I need to worry. This concerns Xiao Yi's future graduate studies."
At that moment, Academician Pang from the Institute of Physics leaned over again and said with a chuckle, "That's right. I need to worry about it too."
"Get lost!" Xi Lan immediately pushed Pang Cheng away again. "I never realized you had such thick skin. Xiao Yi is a genius of the mathematics world. How can he waste his time on physics?"
"That's not how you should put it, Old Xi."
