Konoha-Suna Liaison Office
P.S.: I saw a phrase today and it gave me an idea for code names.
Black Red.
The Sharingan was black and red.
A tall, voluptuous beauty with graceful curves, pale skin, and an impressive bust stood seriously before the blackboard, a pointer in hand.
She had blue-green eyes, straight silver hair cut to her shoulders, slightly dark skin, and a cat-shaped mask over her face. Beneath the mask, she was likely a beautiful, sexy, mature female ninja.
As for his drawing skills, Asuka was quite impressed with himself. Looking at the figure on the paper, he secretly gave himself a thumbs-up.
It really looks just like her.
Tap! Tap! Tap! "Black Red!"
The sound of someone rapping on the blackboard pulled Asuka out of his fantasy. He looked up at the Squad Leader beside the board and said sternly,
"Captain, you're right!"
With a cold snort, the Anbu Squad Leader holding the pointer continued indicating the blackboard. Her gaze swept over the newly recruited rookies as she spoke slowly.
"Everything I'm teaching you now is something you'll need in the future. These are lessons the senior Anbu bought with their lives.
"Don't let today's distraction lead you down the same path those seniors took tomorrow."
Asuka nodded repeatedly. Looking at the Anbu Captain he had just been assigned to, he felt a pang of emotion.
I wonder if her shoulders would get sore after standing for too long.
She's probably bigger than Tsunade, right?
Since when did Konoha have someone like this? With that thought, Asuka tore off a small strip of paper, wrote a few words on it, and passed it to the person beside him.
There seemed to be quite a few people joining the Anbu this time. There were five in this room alone.
For now, he only knew that his Captain's code name was Night, his own Anbu code name was Black Red, and the person next to him was called Late Red.
His Captain was truly a genius at naming things.
She really had it out for the color black.
He then turned toward the person beside him. Seeing her put on an attentive expression, Asuka lowered his voice and said,
"Red, did you see the note I wrote?"
"I threw it away."
???
Asuka's mouth twitched as he looked at her red eyes and heard that indifferent response.
Is Yuhi Kurenai really this foul-tempered? We're going to be teammates who support each other in the future.
When we go on missions, you'll be trusting me with your back.
"Enough."
At that moment, the Squad Leader at the front tapped the blackboard again with her pointer. She pulled out a mission scroll from her robe and said coldly,
"As the negotiations between Sunagakure and Konoha gradually draw to a close, Sunagakure has once again become our ally.
"This morning, we received a notice from the higher-ups.
"Konoha will send personnel to Suna for friendly exchanges.
"However, friendly exchange is not the objective. Our objective is to prevent Suna from turning against us again and launching a surprise attack on the village.
"Therefore, the exchange personnel sent to Sunagakure will be stationed there. Through their long-term presence, they will learn of any subtle changes within the other village and report them to Konoha promptly at the appropriate times.
"The posting will last approximately three months. To prevent accidents or genjutsu affecting the personnel, the village will send replacements after three months."
At that, Asuka raised an eyebrow.
Isn't that just espionage? Open espionage.
If the "exchange personnel" suddenly died, Konoha would naturally need to prepare for war.
With that in mind, Asuka raised his hand and asked,
"So this mission is for us to protect the exchange personnel?"
"No."
She shook her head, looked at Asuka, and continued,
"Our mission is to choose one person as Konoha's exchange representative and send them to Sunagakure. Since the ninja world has not yet achieved complete peace and war could break out at any time, that exchange representative would be in great danger once war begins. They must possess considerable strength and be able to transmit enough intelligence in a short time.
"Therefore, the village has decided to send a jonin to Suna—a jonin with a Summoning Beast capable of delivering intelligence—to send information back to the village in time."
"Black Red, your Ninja Cat Summoning Beast should have two contractors. One of them should be Cat Granny. You are the most suitable candidate for this trip to Suna.
"This time, you will briefly station yourself in Sunagakure under the pretext of medical exchange."
Oh.
Asuka understood at once.
This time, he would head to Suna as an open spy, regularly using Ninja Cats to relay intelligence to Konoha. If he disappeared, it would mean Suna had betrayed them again.
This mission was rather difficult.
"An S-Rank Mission?"
"Yes."
The Squad Leader nodded. She rubbed her slightly aching shoulders, then crossed her arms beneath her chest and said in a clear voice,
"After you arrive in Suna, remember not to act rashly.
"If you act, there will be bloodshed. Bloodshed leads to grudges. Grudges lead to death.
"And when people die, turmoil will rise again in the ninja world.
"The ninja world has only just found peace. Peace was hard won, and every ninja should cherish it. So, do not act."
"Because Suna's ninja lost relatives in the war, they may look down on you, humiliate you, bully you, or beat you."
"Oh."
Asuka drew out the word, then said slowly,
"So that's when I can act."
"You cannot! If you fight back, there will be bloodshed. Bloodshed leads to grudges, grudges lead to death, and death could restart the war.
"We cannot give Sunagakure an excuse to start another war."
Hearing that, Asuka blinked. Pinching his chin with one hand, he looked at the Captain beside the blackboard and asked in surprise,
"Captain, don't tell me your surname is Sarutobi?"
"My surname is indeed Sarutobi."
Giving Asuka a puzzled glance, the female ninja of the Sarutobi clan could not help frowning.
"Does what I'm teaching have anything to do with my surname?"
"No. The Sarutobi clan is a peace-loving clan. Please continue!"
By now, Asuka had more or less guessed her identity. She was probably Sarutobi Hiruzen's daughter-in-law.
There were only a few important positions in the Anbu, yet the Sarutobi clan held at least two of them.
The woman before him was an Anbu Squad Leader, with sixteen people under her command including himself.
There seemed to be four Anbu Squad Leaders in total.
In other words, this S-Rank Mission was actually being assigned to all four squads. Each squad would send one person to one of the major ninja villages: Wind, Lightning, Earth, and Mist.
P.S.: The Book of Formation says Konoha's Anbu seemed to number around seventy people.
"Let him be cruel; let him be wicked."
The Sarutobi female ninja fixed her gaze tightly on Asuka and instructed him,
"As long as you do not take it to heart and carry on as usual, that will be enough."
"Even if I'm beaten to death, I can't act?"
"Is anyone beating you right now?"
"No!"
"Then wait until someone does before considering that question."
"But—"
"Hit me."
Seeing Asuka stare at her in bewilderment, the ninja took a deep breath, crooked a finger at him, and said casually,
"Come on, hit me. Hit me once, and you'll understand."
Oh?
Asuka immediately sprang from his chair and landed before his Captain. Looking at her explosively curvaceous figure, he asked somewhat hesitantly,
"You're the one telling me to hit you?"
"Stop dawdling."
The Squad Leader nodded. She planted her feet naturally shoulder-width apart, toes pointed toward Asuka, knees straight, chest thrust high, and gestured with her eyes for him to begin.
He had rarely heard someone voluntarily ask to be hit in his life.
Asuka reached out and squeezed his Captain's tense muscles. Once he saw that she truly seemed prepared, he clenched his right fist and swung it twice through the air.
Then his right foot slammed into the floor, and spiderweb cracks spread out from beneath it.
But that was not the important part. At the sound of his fist tearing through the air, the Squad Leader's pupils contracted. Her body instinctively tried to dodge the punch.
But they were standing far too close. Though her brain had issued the command, before her body could properly react, a sharp pain exploded in her lower abdomen.
With a muffled impact, the rookies who had just joined the Anbu saw their Squad Leader's feet leave the ground, her body folding into the shape of a giant shrimp as she shot backward.
Boom! A wall collapsed from the impact, and dust instantly filled the room, choking everyone into coughing.
They stared blankly at Asuka, at the fist still suspended in midair, and swallowed in unison.
"Cough, cough... Where's the Captain?"
"No idea. I think she flew out."
"Why did he use so much force?"
"..."
"Silence!"
At that moment, the Squad Leader's composed voice came from outside. She patted the dust from her body with both hands and slowly walked over to Asuka, her tone calm.
"Just like me, even if someone hits you after you arrive in Sunagakure, do not retaliate."
With that, she waved to the others and gave them a brief instruction. "Dismissed. I'm a little sleepy. I'm going back to the break room to sleep."
???
Asuka watched his Captain's departing back and began muttering to himself.
As expected of the Anbu. These Squad Leaders are all incredibly tough—her ability to take a beating far surpasses ordinary people.
And now I finally know why she's bigger than Tsunade. Not just anyone could have such a broad chest.
A Captain like that deserves to be big.
After the Squad Leader returned to the break room, she casually picked up a sanitary pad from the table and calmly headed for the restroom.
She shut the door and turned on the faucet in one smooth motion.
As the sound of running water began, a burst of wailing immediately erupted from inside.
Mixed within it were several curses about her period arriving out of nowhere.
