Slaughter

In the darkness of night, Qin Hao pressed onward. Although it was his first time entering the Wilderness Zone, he felt no discomfort whatsoever. Instead, his mind felt even more relaxed.

With no one accompanying him, Qin Hao did not venture too deeply into the Wilderness Zone. After traveling dozens of kilometers, he stopped. After examining his surroundings, he confirmed his location: a small town formerly under County 0201.

Such small towns would not contain overly powerful monsters. Most were Beast Soldiers, with only a few Beast Generals. They posed no danger to Qin Hao and would allow him to quickly adapt to the Wilderness Zone and accumulate experience.

Upon entering the town, Qin Hao found a relatively intact building. After clearing out the nearby Beast Soldiers one by one, he set up the alarm device, found a room, and sat down on the floor to rest up for the next day's slaughter.

At dawn, sunlight streamed into the room. Qin Hao opened his eyes, stretched lazily, loosened his muscles and bones, and gradually grew excited.

"Slaughter begins." Walking out of the room, Qin Hao drew the longsword in his hand and began searching for targets. As morning arrived, the monsters in town also began to move.

Qin Hao proceeded straight down the town's streets. Before long, he encountered a pack of Tiger Mastiffs. Most of these Tiger Mastiffs had evolved from the yellow dogs once common in the countryside, stimulated by the RR Virus. After being affected by the RR Virus, most monsters had become exceptionally savage. Even former pet cats and dogs had turned into Fierce Beasts that devoured humans.

Though Qin Hao had never personally experienced the Great Nirvana, he had seen plenty through textbooks and various video materials. When it came to these monsters, he had only one thought: kill.

The moment he spotted the pack of Tiger Mastiffs, Qin Hao vanished from where he stood. In the blink of an eye, he appeared before them, his longsword flashing. Without even using the Force Generation method of the Nine Heavens Thunder Blade, he swept his blade across the neck of the Tiger Mastiff at the front, beheading it with a single strike.

After killing the first Tiger Mastiff, Qin Hao became even faster. His figure flickered continuously; with Micro-Level Movement Technique and the speed of an Intermediate War General, he utterly crushed this pack of mere Beast Soldier-level Tiger Mastiffs.

In less than a minute, the dozen or so Tiger Mastiffs had all lost their lives. Qin Hao did not waste their corpses. After harvesting the most valuable parts from them, he began seeking new targets for slaughter.

Over the course of the morning, Qin Hao's tracks covered more than half the town, and over a thousand monsters within it were completely cleared out.

After a morning of slaughter, Qin Hao inevitably carried a chilling aura about him. His formidable strength had kept him from suffering even the slightest injury in battle, and not a drop of blood had stained his body, yet the scent of blood still seemed to linger around him.

However, Qin Hao was not affected in the slightest. His eyes remained clear. He had anticipated what he might encounter during slaughter, and the insights into mental discipline he had gained over eighteen years kept this situation from affecting him too greatly.

"The effect is minor, but I have still been affected. The stimulation brought by slaughter is limited. Once I finish clearing this town, I should try entering the county town. Only battles against evenly matched opponents can provide enough experience."

After assessing his condition, Qin Hao quickly dealt with lunch and began a new round of slaughter. At around four in the afternoon, all the monsters in the town had been cleared out, including a Beast General-level monster.

However, even that Beast General had failed to withstand more than a few moves against Qin Hao before being slain.

"Looks like I need to make a trip back to the Supply Base." After slaughtering the monsters of an entire town, Qin Hao's backpack had been stuffed full of monster materials. Though most Beast Soldier-level materials were not worth much, every little bit counted. Having made up his mind, Qin Hao slung his backpack over his shoulder and headed toward the Supply Base.

By evening, Qin Hao had returned to the Supply Base. He directly processed all the materials there. After selling over a thousand Beast Soldier-level materials along with the Beast General-level ones and receiving an income of ten million, Qin Hao returned to his assigned small building. He opened the home communication system, chatted briefly with his family, transferred the ten million directly into his parents' account, and went to rest.

The next morning, Qin Hao did not immediately head to the Wilderness Zone. Instead, he cultivated within the Military Base for the entire day and did not set out until evening.

"I wonder if I'll run into Luo Feng." Standing outside County 0201, Qin Hao could not help thinking of this. If he remembered correctly, this county town was also where Luo Feng had first entered the Wilderness Zone with the Fire Hammer Squad.

Qin Hao did not dwell on it. With his longsword in hand, he entered County 0201 and began his hunt. This time, his goal was also very clear: Beast General-level monsters or above. Ideally, he wanted to encounter an Advanced Beast General. Although he was currently only an Intermediate War General, the boost of the third level of the Nine Heavens Thunder Blade gave him the confidence to face an Advanced Beast General.

Qin Hao swiftly moved through the county town's various buildings and soon reached the rooftop of its tallest structure. It had been a skyscraper before the Great Nirvana, over forty stories high. But after the ravages of monsters and time, it had become extremely dilapidated.

Standing on the rooftop, Qin Hao took in the entire county town.

The county town was not large, spanning only a few kilometers in every direction, and Qin Hao could see it all at a glance. This county town had left no impression in either of Qin Hao's lives, but its ruined buildings still revealed some of the distinctive features of Jiangnan Water Town. In his previous life and before the Great Nirvana, it had likely been a secluded paradise filled with the warmth of everyday life.

"Mm, the target has appeared." Suddenly, Qin Hao spotted a group of Beginner War General-level monsters to the northeast: a pack of Bloodthirsty Tanks. As monsters with extremely strong defenses, Bloodthirsty Tanks were the most troublesome opponents in a small county town like this. If they could not be dealt with quickly, they would inevitably draw attacks from other monsters.

The group of Bloodthirsty Tanks Qin Hao saw numbered more than ten, moving together in a pack, with an Intermediate Beast General leading them.

"Difficult to deal with, but they're good trial opponents." Having made his decision, Qin Hao did not hesitate and immediately took action.

After descending from the skyscraper, Qin Hao moved swiftly through the streets, carefully avoiding the surrounding monsters. These monsters posed no threat to him whatsoever; he could even dispatch them with a single strike. But in a county-level town like this, engaging in indiscriminate slaughter could easily provoke an attack from all the monsters in the entire town.

There were tens of thousands of monsters in the county town. Even if most of them were only Beast Soldiers, it would still cause an enormous disturbance. Qin Hao could ensure his own safety, but the other martial artists in the county town would surely face utter disaster.
